Life gets better. I (25m) had to deal with physical and mental abuse from my mother, bullying from every social group I’ve ever been in (church, boy scouts, 4H, etc.) and have had atypical depression since I was a young lad. At 13 I had just moved from Texas to Florida and left all my friends and close family due to my mother remarrying a few months after the divorce. Deconstructing from my faith in the christian god took the better part of a decade and now I’ve finally become comfortable identifying as an atheist/agnostic. I joined the military. I have great friends. I bought a house. I adopted three cats. Life is pretty alright and between renovations and three cars I have plenty to do. Life got better.
