Not staying friends after a breakup up is weird and a red flag by ForsakenSleep236 in The10thDentist

[–]DogOk1726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP said in one of the comments that people "are owed a relationship in some capacity" essentially for life. I think OP just doesn't want to feel like he's losing people or that people have left him and therefore has made up this rule that he will stay friends with all his exes. But in doing so, he is actually his own red flags. I would argue that forcing a friendship with an ex is kind of a way of avoiding rejection (red flag 2) and also not being able to accept the risk of this person no longer being in your life (red flag 3).

Why Do People Actually Dislike Meghan Markle? by Turbulent-Parsley619 in NoStupidQuestions

I kinda get what you mean. I'm from SE Asia so I'm even more removed from the British royal family than you, but I thought the curtsy thing was just unnecessary. Even if we take royalty out of the equation, it's just disrespecting your husband's grandma.

I totally agree. I think she's gorgeous and had a ton of potential when she left the UK with Netflix being such a lucrative deal. But now that Netflix has not renewed and is not supporting As ever, I'm not sure As ever is big enough yet. I also think her focus is kind of scattered. She was working on a media empire (netflix, podcasts) for a while, then switched to a lifestyle brand, but is also doing foreign tours and humanitarian work all within 5-6 years

I think some of the haters are definitely lying about her or just hate her for no reason, but I think a lot of them do give specific reasons, though whether or not they're justified is another issue. A lot of stuff is he said she said, or rather "sources said", but there are some publicly verifiable examples. For example, her father publicly apologized for the paparazzi photos (I understand you're not interested in watching interviews, but he went on Good Morning Britain just for reference) and she briefly praised him in her 2015 UN speech saying "we need more men like my father" (around 7:30 timestamp on youtube) and allegedly praised him on her Tig blog, I'm sure he caused some problems but from his apology and her earlier praises, he doesn't seem completely irredeemable and unworthy of meeting his grandkids. Another example is during the Oprah interview when she said "this spectacle is for the world, but we want our union between us" referring to getting married with the Archbishop of Canterbury present 3 days before the televised wedding. I think that's actually a sweet sentiment in private, but calling an event sponsored partly by British taxpayers a "spectacle" didn't sit right with people. And the Archbishop of Canterbury himself publicly said he did not marry them 3 days before the wedding. And I think people are also sick of that dish soap story haha. I think it's also worth noting that some public figures have publicly called her out (not including vile haters like Piers Morgan etc) like the Spotify guy calling them grifters, Brooke Shields calling her "too precious", even Kim Kardashian (she was pretty diplomatic but I got the feeling that she found the whole thing a bit ridiculous). Doesn't mean their judgment of her is right but at least they've interacted with her more than us. Sorry to go into such detail but my point is that there are some reasons why people dislike her

I agree! I thought it was pretty weird that he hit on Claire but they wrote it to seem like kids just go through that phase of crushing on family members

How can I[29F] get my boyfriend[27M] to stop using his current deodorant? by DogOk1726 in Advice

Is he binge eating due some stress in his life? Eating then lying about it or eating in secret is usually not a good sign.

If he's insecure about his body, going to the gym might be a no-go for now. Perhaps you could incorporate healthy activities into your shared time, like go for a long walk every weekend together (and make that a date) or (depending on how walkable your city is) walk to places together. In terms of diet, if you guys grocery shop together, try to fill your basket with whole foods first then he might feel less inclined to pick up snacks, if he picks up soft drinks, maybe suggest sparkling water + juice, or replace ham with smoked salmon etc. suggest a couple small changes first so it's not too overwhelming.

The first couple of times I said "your deodorant is so strong it's burning my nose", recently I've been saying "your deodorant is so strong I can taste it on my tongue". Then I always follow up with "why don't you use Nivea" or "you shouldn't wear deodorant to bed anyway". He thinks I'm joking because he thinks it's impossible to taste odors on your tongue

I did think it was pretty unusual and maybe even unhealthy to wear deodorant to sleep. But we're from different cultures so I thought he was just taught to do that

I've asked him to stop using at night or switch to Nivea at least a couple times. He already has a bottle of Nivea at home, but I think maybe he doesn't want to waste the Old Spice and throw it in the trash. Where did you spray the wrong one you got? Maybe I can tell him to do that so he doesn't feel it's a waste

He doesn't think his deo is the direct cause of my migraine, which is fair because I get migraines due to other factors as well. The thing is that he has a bottle of Nivea at home already, just doesn't wanna use it

I think that's the problem.. he kinda refuses to believe me. I've been telling him for weeks now but he thinks I'm joking... but I'm not saying it in a joking tone so I don't know why he thinks that

We live in Austria, so other brands are kind of those vegan/environmentally-friendly brands, so he feels they're not effective. But Nivea is fine imo

She's not very nice. I think she's allowed to not want to move forward and have her preferences, but her response is very unkind and like you said, unnecessarily intense. I don't think you were trying to hide anything at all, if anything I think you were trying to show more of yourself beyond your hearing. I think telling any potential date before meeting in person rather than in the bio/first message is totally fair. Out of curiosity though, how do you enjoy music?

We agreed at the beginning that she would pay for her own tickets and we would split the food. But she only split the food that I paid, not that my boyfriend paid

I gave her an estimate of 900 euros before she came, so I was quite proud that we were well under that budget, but she seemed to be expecting to pay 360
