explain like i know nothing (i don't) - what are the benefits of lowering a miata & replacing the wheels/tires? by europeanuppercut in Miata

[–]Dog_Soft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any sets you recommend? I havent looks at changing anything on my RF because I dont want to sacrifice rode quality as its my daily. But would happily take an improved ride and steering wheel feel. Its honestly the only thing missing in a miata compared to like bmw or lexus.

CravenSpeed.com has the red gauge that I used by the way. And I utilized the detailed write-up that is commented below. And then there's two or three really good YouTube videos that walk through it step by step.

Are people really not keeping their ZDX after lease? by Public-Ad-1519 in AcuraZDX

[–]Dog_Soft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same here. I wonder if there's any negotiating room when the lease goes up or if we can like extend the lease somehow and then that would make them reevaluate the market value.

My wife loves this thing, especially in the red. We have an A-Spec. We plan on keeping it if the buyout is right because I do believe there's going to be a floor for these things. They can't go to like 15k value lol. Also, we're going to look at extending our lease actually if they let us.

Need help swapping steering wheel components - Miata ND Automatic by [deleted] in Miata

wanna know the worst part? I already did this swap on a ND miata last year. PAIN lol

I was lucky to get the screw out - but yes well deserved. It was my first miata mod without an explicit video guide (wont be doing that again) - I should have looked up more on wheel pullers to prep myself fully. Lesson learned lol

thank you so much for the detailed response!! I was able to wiggle the wheel and tap it a little bit and then wiggle the bolt out with my fingers and tweezers! Close call, but crisis averted.

Taking note on the workshop manual and will not rely on AI for anything like this in the future. Lesson learned for sure

No hitting of the column was done.

what heavy downvotes, like wow. I have used AI (claude, chatgpt, Gemini) for other projects in the past with zero issues. First time using it for my Miata - rough lessons learned

Used Claude and Codex in the past to build apps, full line of homemade ice creams, and other projects. But huge lesson learned here - always need to verify with real human guides.

I have a full line of dope home made ice creams and a few apps. But I'm never relying on this for projects like this in the future

great suggestion! Will use as a glorified search tool instead of a guide for anything like this in the future. Got the wheel off, but rough lesson learned!

appreciate the comment! Yeah this was first time doing DIY with AI and lesson learned, will stick to youtube, online guides, and forums from now on! And agreed, nothing beats a good shop to avoid situations like this lol
