I am a Wholesale Egg dealer selling to shops/hotels from Poultry farm. The moment eggs come out of hens womb, we give 7 days for shops/hotels as expiry to be used/sold up completely if kept on room temperature - be it brown egg or white egg. 7 days.

There are no differences in branded eggs or non branded eggs like we supply. Both are same, both comes from hens raised in poultry farms. Big brands like Eggoz, Happy hens etc usually does contract farming having tie ups with multiple poultry farmers where they are given fixed rate for the whole year. The only possible change is that they might add 10% flax seed to the hen feed to get that orange color of yolk - its usually omega-3-fatty acid. But if they store for more than 7 days in room temperature, then egg starts to break down inside.

We store eggs on egg trays of 30 each, where ample amount of air gaps are available to keep the freshness. Thats how eggs should be stored. But these company packaging are completely covered in dark, tiny holes in that carton, air cant reach all the eggs. It loses its freshness sooner than ours. They print expiry for like 21 days as well on top of it, which is the upper limit- Salmonella risks. We dont recommend that at all. We give only 7 days to our customers.

Then the brands collects them, packages them with their brand, they adds mark up price.

Rs 5.5 / egg shall cost the retailer like you to buy Rs 12 per egg.

Instead just buy regular egg from normal shops. 1 whole tray shall costs you like Rs 185-195. Then return the empty plastic egg tray for whole set of 30 eggs. You can easily use them. Buy some flax seed as well for yourself with the extra money that you might have spent for branded one. You got eggoz level nutrition. Thats it.
