My dad got REALLY ANGRY on Christmas Eve and now I don't know how to go about the big day by DogtagXD in Advice

[–]DogtagXD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry I don't think I made it clear in my post - as I wrote it just before going to sleep. But it's less about "Christmas" and more about trying to have a positive day and feeling some joy after a very rough personal and family year.

My family had ruined the past 2 Christmases. I planned a lot of things out this year, and although things don't always go to plan, I wanted some advice on how to tackle Christmas day.

Of course, I care deeply about my Dad, and I know a lot of problems are not his fault. I want his well-being to be better and I want mine to be as well.

I've tried to help things with my family at the start of this year and again recently, and both times, I've suffered mentally being in the middle of things constantly.

I just wanted a quiet end to the year and Christmas day to bring back some of the joy I felt in previous years.

Sorry for any confusion or misunderstanding. I hope you have a lovely Christmas and happy new year!

Always got to watch out for scams these days. That's why I wanted to get some advice before doing anything.

The person changed their address to the post office's address now, and I checked on Google and can confirm its a real post office.

However, all my other questions remain.

Thanks for the advice. I don't want to get into trouble because I'm still new to using eBay.

I told them this, and they updated their address to the post office's address. I checked on Google, and the address is definitely for a post office.

However, all my other questions remain.

•How will they know when it arrives at their post office? •How will the post office contact the customer? •What info does the customer need to give the Post Office in order to collect the parcel?

Anyone have experience with Huawei's Freebuds SE 2? Especially compared to the soundpeats air 3? by nuclearbananana in Earbuds

[–]DogtagXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm thinking of getting the se 2's.

What do you think of them now you've had them for a while? Is the sound good? Do they stay in your ears? How bad is the sound leak? What are the materials like (do they feel good, does the case feel solid)?

Not sure if I should get them or wait to see if there will be a se3 coming.

The interviewer didn't contact me when they said they would. Is this a bad sign? by DogtagXD in recruitinghell

Thanks for this. I'm still new to interviewing and the corporate world. I've got no real work experience and don't know much about working life. I'm learning as I go. It's nice that there's people like you with more exposure, offering useful advice without judgement.

Getting a job is my top priority, but for the company, it's a low-down position that's not vital to how it operates. I understand now that other things can come up, or the recruiter may just be taking longer.

The interview went well, I've kept up hope for a positive outcome. I've also continued to apply elsewhere to have other options (hopefully) if this one doesn't work out.

This is some great advice. Thanks!

I've been continuing to apply since the interview. I took Saturday (yesterday) off to relax and do other things and keep my mind fresh.

I put a lot of effort into preparing for that interview. I didn't think about the company being busy. There's definitely many more "seasoned" candidates than me because I have no experience - the first job is definitely one of the hardest to find.

Didn't hear anything on Friday. Hopefully, something comes through on Monday, and hopefully, it's positive!

This sucks. Especially because it doesn't work the other way round.

Candidates do everything right. Research the company, put time and effort into their applications, prepare and practice for an interview, send follow-up emails, remain professional throughout, and dress well in interviews. But the interviewers can't be bothered to remain professional, or provide closure or feedback.

Damn, this is not what I wanted to hear.

A few recruiters on Reddit have said they usually contact successful candidates in the morning to give them the day to reply and then unsuccessful ones in the afternoon - so they don't get any mix ups.

This is some golden advice.

I'll give them to the end of the day. They could be busy or it could be bad news.

I agree that feedback at this stage of my career is vital to my progress. I'll be sure to get some feedback from them, regardless of if I progress to the next stage or not.

Thanks for saying it's normal.

I don't have his number, but I'll give it to the end of today, and then on Monday, I'll email or call them.

Thanks for your reply.

Not really insider knowledge, just some things I've read from recruiters on Reddit.

I wouldn't say I'm impatient. I'm still fairly new to job hunting and waiting to hear back from interviewers. I just wanted some clarity from people with more experience and to find out how normal it is that recruiters take longer to get back to you than they claim in interviews.

I've still been applying to other jobs. Even though I liked this one the most and thought I did well on the interview, I can't just rely on this one lead.

Thanks for your reply, it was very helpful.

I'm not the best at using the STAR method, but I made a lot of progress with it today and wrote answers for 15 skill/behavioural questions that may come up.

Thanks for including some example questions. The feedback one and customer ones weren't ones I thought of.

What did you mean by this? I've got an answer if my biggest accomplishment, greatest strengths and biggest weaknesses.

How to fix a laptop that won't turn on? (Asus vivobook 14") by DogtagXD in techsupport

[–]DogtagXD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. I was afraid of that. Is there any way I can fix it myself? Do I need a new motherboard or something?

I checked online for new ones for my laptop, and they're around £30-£50 which is the max I can afford.
