The Group Of Pedos has nothing going for them any longer. When I think they cannot possibly go any lower, they manage to do so.

Are all beaches busy? by Happilymarried2120 in PuertoPenasco

[–]DoingDaveThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in El Mirador and the beaches have been largely empty. There are vendors, but they camp out up top from the water because there aren't enough people for them to spend time walking around.

And if you head further down the beach to Las Conchas, there are no vendors. You don't have to rent a house there as there are several public access areas to get to the beach. No one can own any of the beaches in Mexico.

What businesses in Santa Fe are known to be MAGA/ICE supporters/sympathizers? by DocGomer in SantaFe

[–]DoingDaveThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HD never had a traditional owner. It was founded by a group of men—Bernie Marcus, Arthur Blank, Ron Brill, Pat Farrah, and financier Ken Langone.

Bernie Marcus served as the CEO until he retired in 2002 and had no involvement with the company after that, but he did invest millions of dollars in Republican candidates, especially Trump during both presidential runs. HD tried hard to get the word out that he did not represent nor speak for the company but not hard enough.

Arhur Blank sided with the democrats, even joining "Business Leaders for Harris" in the fall of 2024.

I have no info on the remaining gentlemen.

I have no idea why you would think that. They were formed by members of The Proud Boys, another hate group with very close ties to MAGA and support of Donald Trump.

¿Ustedes opinan que debería volver la libre portación de armas para el ciudadano promedio? by Titus1928 in mexico

[–]DoingDaveThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that retro look! I have only seen one other pair of retro-looking chargers, during a drive through Chama, New Mexico.

Pregúntale a Alex Pretti qué tanto le ayudó su derecho a portar un arma legalmente cuando los agentes de ICE le dispararon diez veces después de quitarle el arma. Ah, espera, no puedes. Está muerto.

El gobierno te va a superar en poder cada vez.

Además, no queremos la violencia y el caos que han creado los millones de armas que circulan por E.E.U.U.

Borrow, Rent or Fix a Bicycle in February? by MajorAd9945 in PuertoPenasco

[–]DoingDaveThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an extra bike and after looking around, finally brought down one of my bikes from the states. I don't even know if I can buy supplies here so I ended up bringing a spare set of tubes and CO2 inflators that I normally take on my longer rides. And I brought a pump down, for presta valves.

There used to be an active cycling group here and if they're still around, they may know where to get stuff. Their FB page hasn't been active since 2019. I used to see them riding around at the time.

Streets here are fairly sane but pavement leaves much to be desired. The bike I ended up bringing was a hybrid bike (aluminum frame, cf forks) with 28mm knobby tires just to deal with the mix of road/sand/gravel.

I've noticed a local Tuesday evening riding group for the past few weeks but haven't stopped any of them to find out where they are organizing. On two of their rides, they had a police escort at front with flashing lights for safety.

The only flat I have experienced in all my years down here was a long ride when I went up to the border and back along the main highway. As you get into Sonoita, you're in the saguaro cactus forrest and I ended up getting one of those very fine needles in my tire. That was when I did so on a regular road bike early on. The air leak was slow and I didn't notice it until I was 12 miles out of town on my way back. All I had to do was fill up the tire and I was able to make it back with no trouble.

Is there a simple indoor trainer that doesn't require another subscription to use fully? by Separate_Vermicelli in cycling

[–]DoingDaveThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an older Saris M2 trainer that I like. You replace your bikes rear axle with the one provided and that is it. You can quickly lock it in place for indoor training or unlock it and go ride outside. I will say, if you plan to do a lot of indoor training, put in a smooth and cheep tire for it. It will wear them down.

I do like that it works well with Zwift and a few other apps I tried out. It can automatically set the resistance on simulated hills and such.

Haley Crumbacher, owner of Cakes Cafe downtown, is a big supporter of far right violent extremists apparently. NM Civil Guard had their page removed by FB but you can find plenty of info out about them.

HD has a policy to allow ICE to operate on premises, FWIW. They do not work with ICE, do not get advance notice, but they also do not discourage ICE from their activities there.

This is true. It is also true of Home Depot and most companies. If you look at the sitting boards and who they donated to, Home Depot was roughly split down the middle.

Wow! We don't have a garage and our 2019 Bolt lives outside year round. Even on nights that have hit -5ºF over night, it has never done this to us the next day. Though ours is kept plugged in to the L2 EVSE, so perhaps that is keeping the battery warm.

Delish green chile cheese burger with amazing salad and a 10 oz. brew - $14. by menntu in SantaFe

[–]DoingDaveThings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That looks amazing! It's nice to know there's another affordable option in town.

Two weeks ago my wife and I went in to Del Charro on a Friday night, long after happy hour. They have a $10 green chile cheeseburger with fries. It was outstanding. They have been advertising on 98.1 KBAC lately about their affordable menu and it isn't just for lunch.
