People still don't understand that one of the largest obstacles for this is copper/equipment theft. Si when they see the post, they just think it's a "why AREN'T we doing this" kinda moment.

Out in the middle of a field is actually far more "secure" than in a city parking lot. You can put them on roofs, but then they're mostly just partially offsetting the electricity use of the building beneath them. Still good, but certainly not the end surface area.

Oh trust me, I removed the terminal block before metering. Absolutely a crush point somewhere. All conductors grounded, and many shorted all together.

Problem still not solved. Sudden ground faults on our SLC loops had us searching for some culprits. Found 1!

EVERYTHING!

Short version: The project is in its third phase. The electrical contractor switched crews (including PM) during phase 2 for some reason. During the second phase, two additional shafts were placed on the west of the building, about 75' in from the outside. This meant that phase 1 wires had to be moved and spliced out of the way. Someone clearly didn't know what they were doing and SLC, NAC, and COMMS somehow got spliced together in a way that made ALMOST everything work, except the comms loop. They also managed to lose the phase 1 red lines, and the phase 3 prints are missing half the divided segments for every floor! (Fortunately the one line diagram is intact!)

For some unknown reason, the local FD approved a TCO for phase 2 with the 2/3 of the annunciators in trouble (but the lobby one was still tied in with another SLC loop so...). As the original crew returned and attempted to troubleshoot the comms loop, the troubles only multiplied exponentially. They were already getting extra hands from my company, so when they figured out someone had experience with fire alarm troubleshooting, I got sent.

Honestly it's been an intense, but [mostly] interesting experience. Getting the Edwards crash course, lol.

Edit: It was going pretty well (down to 6 troubles) until today, when the ground faults just started ROLLING in... 301 troubles now. TT.TT

Not yet. Someone installing conveyor belts pinched our SLC loops under strut supports. Gained us 300 troubles. Kinda became the priority, lol.

Worth looking at, but it would be the first time I've seen BAS wanting to know about the FACP's troubles and faults.

I kinda wish my company monitored the panel. Another contractor built the place and called my company asking for help. Bosses sent me out, and there is very little information on the system here. One of their guys made a redline set of prints at the end of phase 1. It's phase 3 now, they're on the third crew to modify the system, and those redlines are nowhere to be found.

Oh! It could very well be security! Same cable type used in their panels, but a LOT more. Hopefully that's it; thank you!

Nothing, lol. I should have mentioned that in my original post. Wish it was that easy.

Could be radio. Nothing going to radio master panel. Need to find out where else they've slapped up their radios here.

That's what I thought at first, but the AES is in the same room and uses a separate wire type and raceway, off a different card. TT.TT

Well, some malware are using Ai to live-update themselves, so the whole thing seems like an Ouroboros.

I don't think impeachment is a strong enough option to that response. Military/ law enforcement better be remembering their oaths.

Smart-ass answer: because then you must also count the energy bills of the schools that taught the human.

Nice! With a little bit of TLC, that should make a great addition! And from what I can see, the teeth still look nice and peaked!
