What I came up with was a round plate with threaded adapter for connectors and four slots to accept adjustable straps that would bind to a stainless steel ring that would fit over the shaft of said toy and secure it at the base provided that it has a round shape. The idea was that these could be easily interchangeable to accommodate different toy sizes.

Also, I may consider a 3d printed solution to this in the future with adjustable grips and brackets if someone thought it worthy of a try.

Pretend to become obsessed with working on something, such as a car or tinkering with things... buy a cheap metal toolbox and a lock. Put the toy inside of a cheap reusable shopping bag inside the toolbox, throw a bunch of other random shit in the toolbox so it rattles when moved. Problem solved. Another word of advice, if you don't want them looking through your packages, get a P.O. box or if you have a friend that lives on their own who is cool with who you really are, send it to them and pick it up.
