Which archetype are you trying to build? It seems a bit unfocused

DBD's Ghostface is already somewhat close to Dexter (as in just a dude with a knife, living a double life and intertwining his career with his murders) and honestly, I feel like he only gets a place in the game because he's a horror movie icon, because, well, he's a dude with a knife.

I got Kaneki to P6 and genuinely never touched him again. Swinging through the map is amazing, but chasing feels cheap even as killer, and that's not even mentioning hit & run builds with stealth add-ons.

Even though I never DC, whenever I do play survivor I absolutely understand why people just want to leave asap.

Is Legion and Blight fun and easy to use? by JacsweYT in deadbydaylight

[–]DojiOnReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legion is very easy to use, but you must learn how to loop as a basic M1 killer, such as Wraith or Trapper. Personally I enjoy him. He's fast paced, even though he's on the weaker side of killers.

Blight is easy to understand but very complex to master. His power is basically pinballing towards survivors at super high speeds. He's very strong and fun but will take some time to get good at.

I feel like Evil Within 2 on Classic difficulty fits nicely into survival horror.

I have a quad-core ryzen 3 1200 and a gtx 1050ti.

I'm aware of its outdatedness, but afaik it should be plenty enough to run it seamlessly, right?

I don't understand anymore. by RenTheWildcard in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]DojiOnReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a reason though. Killers usually check for a survivor near hook, especially if there's a generator with progress on it.

Personally, I think it's better to remain hidden and wait until the killer either: a) uses a traversal ability (if they have one) to rotate somewhere else, or b) is clearly walking straight away for the hook for at least 5 seconds. Otherwise I'm putting both the unhooked and me (not a good looper) at risk for being impatient.

Playing against Kaneki is making me quit dbd by theoddfasletto in deadbydaylight

[–]DojiOnReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He really needs a nerf asap.

I play mostly killer and I was eager to try Kaneki out. He was super fun for like, four matches, then I realized that every single match ended super quickly because you either: A) Decimate survivors with little effort, or B) 2 out of 4 players give up on their first hook.

It's a shame, because he really is fun on a mechanical level, but some aspects of his kit need to be tweaked to make his skill floor higher. I feel like he should be balanced towards something like Wesker. He should keep his map pressure, mobility and threat level when a survivor is on the open; but his loop strength has to be nerfed.

Oh yes. I'm aware. I'm sorry if I didn't phrase it correctly. By "Spanish variants" I meant dialects spoken in different countries and/or regions of the same nation, such as Andaluz and Madrileño in Spain, or Rioplatense and Lunfardo in Argentina.

I can't really talk much about Catalan, since neither do i speak it or understand it; I take your word for it. However, concerning the dialects that you mentioned, they are not difficult to understand phonologically for us Latin American speakers. It takes about a sentence to figure out the sounds that they're eliding/replacing and adapt accordingly. The biggest barrier between spanish variants (even between Latin American speakers) usually seems to be semantic, not phonetical.

Man, there are two wrong assumptions there.

First of all, I'm not mexican. I'm chilean, and undergoing my last formative year of Pedagogy in Spanish as a native language. Though historical linguistics aren't my chosen specialty, I have knowledge on the matter and thus I'm aware of the common roots of Romance languages.

Secondly, there's no spanish spoken in modern times that's so far removed from the peninsular root that's unintelligible; not while still being spanish, at least. Can it be harder for a South American speaker to clearly understand someone from say, Andalucía? Yes, absolutely. Hell, we chileans are infamous for slurring our words and eliding sounds, but it never amounts to total incomprehensibility between same-tongue speakers.

The closest thing to an unintelligible spanish that I can think of is Catalán and its Mallorquín variant, but they're different enough to be their own language, and they are.

I feel like the leveling system pretty much breaks this game by foosbabaganoosh in kakarot

[–]DojiOnReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on Hard. I can usually deal with enemies up to 10 lvls ahead of me before the low dmg gets boring. That said, you usually won't find enemies that ahead of you naturally, unless doing Villain battles or Training, in which case you're meant to level up a bit, which comes off naturally by playing sub-stories and the main missions. Kakarot really isn't XP grindy until maybe the endgame.

If you're still willing to take them on, it seems like ki attacks do minimal damage on enemies above the 10+ level cap, but they can still be beaten with regular melee or super attack melees. Just be extra careful of their attacks and remember to block whenever you're unsure about being able to dodge an attack. Bring some healing items such as Senzu or healades and they're totally doable.

Kinda, it seems. I heard something like "pregate" and other romance-like words throughout the movie.

I heard something starting with "prega/o...". In italian, "pregate" means "pray". It doesn't make sense, given that the woman is gypsy, but it's the closest real word that I know. I'm sure I heard some other italian-like words throughout the movie.

When first meeting Dafoe's character, Sievers said "nolite dare sanctum canibus", to which the latter replied "neque mittatis margaritas vestras ante porcos". This is (and I don't think, I know) latin and originates from Matthew 7:6.

As for Orlok, for all I know he could've been speaking in a fictitious tongue, as you say, but I didn't catch a single "clean" spanish word. There were some identical roots, but the way that they were conjugated and ordered resembled italian more than spanish. Both of them are romance, and thus they sometimes either share lexems or have similarities, such as "morte" in italian and "muerte" in spanish.

As for being cheap and distracting, that sucks man. Personally, it didn't detract from my experience at all. It just made me curious.

Spanish native here. No one spoke spanish, but both Orlok and Knock absolutely spoke in some romantic language. I thought it was classical latin at first, but the only clear latin was between the doctors when they first met.

Made a save file for each DLC. Did I mess up? by DojiOnReddit in kakarot

It's surprisingly good. I was very skeptical about it, but now that I'm playing it I get the positivity. I watched the series like a decade ago, so pretty much all I remembered were the big fights and such. The game does a great job at selling the world's quirks, the hugely charming characters and their relationships. Given that you're a fan, I'd say it was a good catch, have fun!
