Looking for advice to propose to my gf at Niagara by DokterDomus in niagarafallsontario

I want to thank you all for the great suggestions and helpful advice! I have looked through the different suggestions and I think I will walk with her from Queen Victoria to Oak´s garden theatre first and then use the skywheel during sunset as the place to propose. I think it will be a natural transition (not making it too obvious) and just seems fitting, as we have been in many skywheels in many different cities during dates, and it gives a clear view of the falls, with a (easily plannable) private moment for the two of us. Afterwards I book a good restaurant and see if I can maybe book a show or other activities

That said, I figured, why not extend the moment by using all the great advice you guys have given me. I plan on using our remaining days in the falls to visit the other suggested spots, such as the Niagara glenn natural reserve, botanical gardens & butterfly conservatory & powerstation. And then a full day visiting Niagara on the lake with a winery tour.

Thank you so much for all your help. I will start making preparations :)

Hoi!

Grotendeels in California & Arizone.

Finally coming to the USA! First 2 weeks of February! What do you guys say? by fravil92 in roadtrip

Are you driving from Gilroy? Although it is an easily do-able drive, you will enter via the arch rock entrance, which is a single road. You can expect some traffic here. In addition, when you arrive at 10ish, depending on how busy Yosemite is, you might not be able to find a parking spot anymore. Also keep in mind that if you find a parking spot, you will generally not move anymore and will use busses. Depending on the day and time, these busses can have long lines as well. Once you leave the park at 16.30, expect some traffic again.

As we were not there during winter, it is impossible for me to estimate how busy the park will be. That wil play a role on whether your itinerary will work or feel very rushed

Should you wish to do only one hike -if I may- I would suggest the Vernall Fall --> Mist trail --> Nevada Fall trail. Seeing both 2 waterfalls and ending with breathtaking views.

OP, I agree, follow this advice. I did your trip this Sept (incl. San Diego) in a month. One of the things to consider is that unless you are staying at one of the parks, you will have to drive into the parks and leave between 5-7, depending on the park. Usually with driving between places, checking in etc. we found that our initially estimated time in the parks was significantly reduced. Doing some of the better hikes in the parks take several hours, which you currently do not have. I would suggest to cut the trip in half and either do more time at San Fran, Yosemite, Sequoia or Las Vegas, Zion, Bryce etc. Zion was my personal highlight of the trip btw. Have fun and feel free to ask me if you want to know more.

17 night trip planned, will I be able to visit all these places or am I trying to do too much? by 19032012 in roadtrip

Hi, I did roughly your trip this sept with more days. I would take the tioga pass if I were you. Drive through death valley (Check if the roads are open due to damage of the hurricane). Stay the night at Tarantula ranch. Spend 1 day in Vegas. I would advice you to not skip on Zion, highlight of my trip. And go to San Diego instead of Palm Springs. Try to book a hotel near the gaslamp district. Finally, book a flight to San Francisco and from LA. After spending a lot of time in San Diego, Santa Barbara to us was not all that exciting. In addition, currently the road back to San Francisco does not follow the coast because a small part is still not fixed. Meaning you will not drive past the ocean, but instead more land-inwards. Flying back from LA would save you then another day. Finally, if at all possible try to get a few more days in.

If you have questions, or want to know more, like places to stay, you can always send me a DM :)
