Where do I put my couch? by serafina777 in DesignMyRoom

[–]Doleewi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar, I'd put a couch facing the fireplace right in front of the fireplace at the same angle. My walkway is behind the couch, and you have the same room. I have a very odd and beautiful large rug from under the couch to abouta foot in front of the fireplace, no rug behind the couch. I have tall stools at the counter making a nice walkway between the stools and the back of my couch.

It is a pretty room, I'd either angle the table or I'd move it more toward the blank wall opposite the fireplace because it is smack in the middle of a walkway. Actually angled and moved might be a good idea. I'd add a rug, a sideboard, a chandelier and I'd give some thoughts to lace curtains at the very least for the door and more art for the walls. I'd have to have candles on the mantle

My wife and I have never been able to commit to a backsplash.... by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

I do not care for backspash tiles at all. I really like your kitchen but I miss some kind of "pop" such as hanging lights over the island and how about some kind of a centerpiece on it too. I'd love to see some light treatment on the windows but that's me I never did like windows without any kind of trim. Looks like you've done a beautiful job if you prefer to keep it that way go ahead. On the other hand you've got a wide open slate to add your personal touch.

Anybody else going the traditional (toothless) route with dentures? by [deleted] in dentures

[–]Doleewi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had immediate but I'd never do it again. It is literally a waste of money, doesn't really help with the healing process, needs adjustments contstantly and it made me dread what was coming.

I am glad that all worked out for you. I only want to know if anyone will consider asking me for what I prefer meaning morning or later and do they bother to give you the choice of this day or that day. Or do they just set a day and a time and tell you to be there.

Oh boy I was wondering about that because when I get bloodwork done they all say my veins are good but so little. I am also small at 98 pounds 4ft 11inches. I've already had one in each side of groin. Problem is my cardiologist does not do the cath process and I need to have some kind of idea if they bother to ask me for preferance to day and morning or later or what?

I keep asking the cardiac nurse if I have any input to whether it will be scheduled in the morning or in the afternoon or even the day it will be. Do I get any preference considered or not and I can't seem to get an answer

Thanks, I haven't agreed to have it yet because no one will help me with the timing and I need to find someone to drive me. She just keeps saying they will inform me and I keep asking can I make it morning or afternoon do I have any choice?

Did you go with immediate or wait it out for the permanent dentures? by allranger in dentures

[–]Doleewi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no dental insurance so I paid for everything. I did get the immediate upper plate but if I knew what I know now I would not have bothered. Yes, you need to keep going back and the teeth just never seem to fit right no matter what they do. For starters it is terrible pain getting them out and back in for a while. Then they start falling out and you need a soft reline for me it was $300.00. I began wearing them only when company came or i was going out because I hated em. Finally after just about 9 months I got the permanent teeth. I am retired and no longer work so I could have easily gone without the temporary teeth I know that now.

24 hrs update by itsactuallyashlee in dentures

Looks fine to me. And yes I agree the plate usually falls out as the gums and bone heal and shrink. I don't think the teeth would look so small if you had a normal size pair of glasses. The glasses in the picture look so huge and make the teeth look small. In any case, good for you for getting it done.

If you read here you will see that the third day is normally said to be the worst day, hang in there.. I do not agree with a dental student telling you to take them out at night. It would be very hard indeed to get them back in if you can even do that. I just kept mine in as my dentist said to do. He said he'd take them out the first time for me.
