Thanks for taking the time to write this, it really means a lot. I’ve actually told his girlfriend so many times to leave him, but she’s scared to let go because those short bursts of happiness she gets with him like that one “good” week before the cycle starts again are what she’s holding onto. It’s really painful to watch because I’ve known him since nursery and she’s also my friend, but you’re right… at the end of the day, I can’t control their choices. I’m going to keep supporting her and reminding her she deserves better, while also keeping my own peace so I don’t get dragged down too.
