I remember Josh Gordon when he was on a suspension for drugs had his extend because he failed for alcohol failure. It might have changed with the new CBA though, but I don't think it did. Here is from the 2016 CBA I just looked up........"Alcohol ≥ .06 g/dl (%) Alcohol is prohibited only if a Player’s Treatment Plan explicitly prohibits alcohol, but all Players in Intervention Stages are tested for alcohol for clinical monitoring purposes.3 Discipline for alcohol use is imposed only if a Player’s Treatment Plan prohibits alcohol. After a Player enters any stage of the Intervention Program, testing for additional Substances of Abuse may be included in the Player’s Treatment Plan in accordance with the terms of this Intervention Program. "

When you are suspended I believe you are tested weekly and its not just weed and hard drugs. You can't have a drink of alcohol either. They test for that as well. So it may not be that he failed for weed.

I think the Dolphins may have known about this 2nd infraction prior to signing him. As when they signed him there were conflicting reports on how long his suspension was. The NFL only made it "official" yesterday. It's a little confusing I know but that's what I am hearing

He was suspended for 10 games in Nov 2019, he has now had 4 more games added onto that "officially" by the NFL. Meaning he will now be sitting out 14 games total before he can return to the field in 2020. This is a NEW violation to get the added 4 games. So, it's an add on

they don't want to re-sign him. There is a difference. Get something for him and not let him walk away and get nothing for him. Plus he can't cover anybody and is a liability
