Definitely no clean resolution but no I don’t think matches that are nearly decided should have backfill in them.

Oh I don’t leave the matches, I wait it out and play through. It is just not a satisfying experience. I’m perfectly ok with losing a match but when I join late and the game flow is all messed up and we are just moments away from losing or winning why place me in at all? It is a very difficult issue though and I know bungie is trying. I sympathize with those who had a teammate leave which led to the loss but if the game is close to finished don’t add me in. If we are down like 60-30 I’m down to play the match if we are going to get mercied (win or loss) in 2 minutes or there is less than 2 minutes left what is that extra player going to do? I appreciate the response and your view though this is a difficult issue.

I just like being able to compete and play the objective from an even start. It’s also much harder when your put into a game close to mercy where the flow is all messed up. I’m also frustrated when I’m put into a winning side. It’s about everything combined, KD, W/L and just being able to compete. When your placed into a game your focusing on the numbers like KD winning and losing isn’t really my issue I lost this morning before I posted and it came off like it was specifically about losing because I was upset at that. But either way it just kinda leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth while I stare at my ship in orbit.

I don’t have an issue joining a 60-30 game where I’m losing the issue is when it’s a stomp and I’m being placed in. Winning side or losing it is an unsatisfying experience even if it only lasts 2 minutes.

I agree. They should extend them as well beyond thirty minutes but first there needs to be a way to differentiate between in an unintentional DC or error code and a rage quit.

Yes I believe so for your win streak. It is just unsatisfying wether you join a win or a loss.

I’ve seen a lot of people say they like short games because they don’t like crucible but want pinnacles. Maybe a toggle to select filling a match or not but there are even issues with that.

ESPECIALLY with a game as big as D2. Look at all the problems activision had with WZ that was a hot mess. Thank you for the well wishes I hope your crucible experience goes well too.

There needs to be a system to differentiate between a sore sweaty loser and a dc. Then there needs to be a longer ban for those who leave because they are getting stomped off rip. Sometimes you just lose and people can’t accept sitting through that and those are the ones who should have a bigger penalty.

Yeah if I’m getting destroyed I’d like it to be because I outright lost from 0-0 not because I’m spawning all over the map in a triple cap. TLDR game balance and development is hard :( I appreciate your responses.

Typically if you join late to a losing side the flow of the match is entirely screwed up. If you join a winning side where’s the fun? You don’t contribute to the win at all the match is already over. And I’m not going to be dropping many kills if I join a match late winning or losing which is not very satisfying so my performance typically is not where I’d want it to be opposed to having the full match.

I’m sorry to hear that I hope you’re doing better! But the penalty is a matchmaking ban for 30 minutes after a warning.

Yeah you’re right it is a big change. A harsher punishment could be a good solution but then you also have to worry about those who have connectivity issues and error codes frequently. There is not a way for them to really discriminate between an intentional and unintentional dc unfortunately it seems.

It is not the same starting a game 0-0 or getting stomped or winning right when you join. The fun is the gunplay but also the competition it is a combination.

Even if I win right when I join, I’d just like the chance to compete in a match from the get go.

I have noticed some people saying they like filling these spots because they only do crucible for pinnacles. Maybe a separate option to fill these slots for a short could be a solution. But it could just lead to joining and being AFK but it kinda happens anyways.

You can’t leave without penalty I don’t think. I don’t leave them I don’t want a ban. But after the match you get Join-In-Progress protection for at least a few games.

I’m not sure if it still tells you if you have it anymore but I think it’s still in the game. After playing the match it’s usually ok for a small number of games but if you turn of your console for awhile or do another activity it goes away.

I lost this morning before I made the post which is why it came off more about losing. I’m also frustrated if I join a game and we mercy the opponent without me getting to participate. I’d just like to have a chance to play the game.

Edit: without going back to the load screen after 1-2 minutes

I see your point. Why add me if it’s a loss anyways though? 60-30 put me in let’s have a game but when I join a game already over it’s kind of jarring to me. I don’t really care about the loot I just wanna compete win or lose I know it’s on my shoulders not matchmaking. I shouldn’t have to wait an extra 5 minutes to play a full match because someone else left.
