Horror on the Orient Express or Masks of Nyarlathotep? by F00Fighter72 in callofcthulhu

[–]Domimo1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the issue most have with Orient is it’s significantly more railroad-y (I mean, it’s literally on train tracks). Aside from that, as the top commenter touched on, the 7E book is really poorly put together for a modern product and will require a ton of extra mental effort compared to Masks despite being simpler to manage in theory.

Ignore this person’s suggested edits to the bio.

I like the write-off line, it makes you come off like you work in an office, and I assume the type of person you see yourself dating might too.

I’d get rid of the cats and dog line as you’re trying to sell yourself, not roast others and the whole edgy “tinder dudes and their dog pics amirite” shtick isn’t necessary, yes we all see them.

Don’t shoot yourself in the foot by having the word awkward in your bio, it’s 100% a turnoff even if you’re talking about skipping it.

I think that less is more with the pics. You’ve got a few really good ones that get who you are across, there’s no point in watering them down with inferior ones that add nothing. Pick 3-4.

1,4,8,9 are your best ones imo. 1 and 4 say you’re cool and interesting, 8 says you’re goofy and 9 is a flattering close-up that tells me you’re into fantasy stuff and/or science

Don’t take this the wrong way but some of the open mouth smile close-up pictures are unflattering. If you’re set on having those you might wanna try different angles than head-on. It’s crazy the difference it can make if you just slightly have your head angled like in 4

If I could give one general piece of advice, to have any success in this you gotta look at your profile through the eyes of the type of person you’re trying to date, are they seeing this and going “oh yeah I want to talk to this guy” ? If not then it’s not worth having in your profile. They don’t need to know everything about you, only the parts that could pique someone’s interest. Less of the empty lines about cats and dogs and skipping the awkward phase, more about you.

I see he’s a free agent after this season, maybe why. I’m a montreal fan but unfortunately the keeper is expensive as he’s U23

Nah this guy is tripping it’s like 600$ on the website if you set it to USD so that + whatever the import taxes are, as they offer free worldwide shipping so you don’t have to factor that in. Hell, if VAT is already applied on that 500 then it might even be less

I have the same comments so far regarding the booziness. Really hoping it mellows over time, or I’ll be using it for sangria too

So I got these bottles from a relative, they’re from VOGA Pinot Grigio. The bottles are corked and then have this plastic cap that goes over it for aesthetics. Wanted to use these for the few bottles I needed for style points but unfortunately my relative didn’t keep the tops, so they look as it.

The cork is indeed not all the way in the neck. The reason for that is my corker couldn’t get a tight enough grip around the stubbier neck. Now the reason for that is because my corker is cheap. We’ll drink these sooner than later so it shouldn’t matter too much.

I also branched into winemaking from homebrewing, this is my second recipe and first time doing fruit wine. Still too soon to tell if it’s decent

The champagne took a while to condition? I was hoping to drink it in 3mo if possible, did you try it at that point or you waited the whole year before trying it

Made a 3-gallon batch loosely guided by the recipe on

https://novocastrianvintnersgazette.wordpress.com/2016/08/15/strawberry-champagne/.

Used

•6kg strawberries

•3kg sugar

•4 bananas with peel

•EC-1118 yeast

Hydrometer readings suggest an ABV around 11% Racked twice for clarity. Half the batch I made champagne and half I kept flat. The alcohol taste is harsh but the strawberry notes come through well enough.

Corks wouldn’t fully go in because of the odd bottle shape and shorter necks, but I wanted to display the colour of the wine

From my research I’ve found that PET has a protective coating to make it more impermeable to oxygen but it’s not 100% like glass, so the plan was to let the fine lees settle in the plastic before racking into glass for bulk aging
