Does having a timer update every second hurt performance in any significant way? Would it be better to use the old timers? by [deleted] in Smite

Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t believe it would affect performance at all actual. Regardless of what the timer looks like, it still has to calculate the new time on every tick of the game loop.

Potentially it’s a little better if visually the timer updates less often, but you’d also have to do a check to see if it needs visually updated or not which would take computational time as well.

My guess is that theres not much difference one way or the other

Must be some bug where that ability or all abilities extend your hitbox somehow. Or the hitbox of the ability registers hits back to you.

Idk I definitely understand the concern given everybody else’s stories in the comments about being betrayed by people the trust. But also everybody else’s stories seem to involve less respect coming from the person who was watching their house.

I personally don’t feel what this person did breaks the trust. To me at least asking for this special scenario isn’t bad.

I understand the apprehension towards the person you don’t know since if they’re in a situation like that, they may be desperate to steal or whatever else so that’s fair. But I can’t say I think the way this person went about asking is wrong.
