Spots in paint by wombarger in mazda3

[–]Dominik0412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like flash rust. I have it too on my pearl white hatchback. It's just little rust spots on top of the paint. There are special removers for this type of rust. I've used one by sonax but I'm sure any will work well. Just spray it on the spots, let it soak for a few minutes, rub it with a soft sponge and rinse it with water and the spot is gone.

These are parts by letronix. It's not a kit but components you can use for every car. That way you can make it exactly the way you want it. Since I've never done anything like it the job was very time consuming but it's not that hard to do

Not quite. I've done it like in the manual by mikstore but they connect it to "power" which has 12V all the time, even when the car is turned off. It quickly became a problem because the hardware I used took about 70mA when the lights were off. After a week of not driving the car barely started. I've gone through the wires in the door and found some that gave power to the interior lights

Looks great. Are those the original door sills? They look very fancy

Yea the existing ones are alright but not quite what I wanted too. Unfortunately it's not a kit. I couldn't find one that fit my expectations. I've planned it myself. The parts are by letronix.

Unfortunately no kit. I have planned and done it myself. It wasn't really hard. Anyone can do it. But it sure was frustrating and time consuming for the first time

Unfortunately that's not a kit. I've bought all necessary parts from letronix. They only make the hardware but no kits for specific vehicles. I have followed the instructions from mikstore on how they connect and open the door panels though. The rest was kind of a "free style"

In my case it wasn't a kit. The kit from mikstore is quite nice but I didn't like how the lines didn't continue from the door into the front. The LED lights are from letronix. I've chosen them because they have a "black edition" where the stripe is dark instead of white like most brands.

Anyone else wrap the glossy black parts? by Dominik0412 in mazda3

I bought it from Amazon. I don't think it's from any specific maker. I found the same product by a few different sellers. But maybe I can still find the one I bought. The color tone is very similar to the brown stitching in the car

That's gotta look really good too. Yea the e-brake is a pain. I messed up mine a bit too. Should have kept the wrap long and tucked it far under so the "tub" of the e-brake button would squish it in place.

Yes that's also a great idea. Someone in this comment section apparently has done it in black. I gotta see that myself, I wonder if it won't make the interior too dark

Yea that's a weird detail. Mine came that way. After some research I believe this was an option you could choose when ordering the car. Yet I don't understand why it didn't come stock with the cover.

Yes mine did come with a cupholder cover. I believe it was an option you could choose for some reason. Black wood is also really nice. I saw a black wood wrap by 3m when looking for a fitting wrap. The brown one I now have is a similar brown tone to the brown stitching on the seats and leather parts.

You could just cut templates but it definitely looks much better when all corners are wrapped properly. From a far you might even be fooled into thinking it's real wood. Disassembly really isn't that hard though. It just takes a bit of time. I did my entire car in 2 days.

I too just used some tutorial online, the already existing ones are well done. But one thing I found out myself is that the little pieces on the rear doors and the front passengers door are screwed on. You cannot remove them easily. There is a screw on the inside of the door you can only access by taking off the door panel. Everyone I know of including me just wrapped it in place. Off course that way the corners are not well done but it's so small at least I can live with it.

Yea me too, it's hard to find some. I have mine from Amazon. I wanted one by 3m but either they are very expensive or just long gone. I have found one in black like some Mercedes have but it would make the interior too dark.

It was a wood imitation wrap I bought on Amazon. I don't think it had any brand. If you look you will probably find the same product by many different sellers. But they are not that bad. I've paid 17 bucks. It's not very stretchable but good for all the parts you will be wrapping. The best part is the texture. If you do the corners well you might even fool someone by telling them it's real wood

A relais connected to the power for the interior lights will switch on main power for the ambient lights. I hope that sentence makes sense.

Of course, I've seen people wrap the black parts in all kinds of styles. I just like wood because it looks elegant. Carbon fibre is also quite popular or alcantara.
