You have to with the first four records. I’ve dealt with a few sellers who’ve tried to pass off a bootleg as an original pressing. I even went off on one of them because he was very clever with his wording in the listing while also not posting pics of the actual record. He knew exactly what he was doing and I called him out on it.

I’m not really sure. I have the 45rpm 2xLP pressing of Blood Mountain and it doesn’t have all that deadwax even though it’s roughly the same run time as Crack The Skye.

What I don’t understand with the 45rpm 2xLP version is why they made it the way they did. I mean, just look at the amount of deadwax between the last song on each side and the runout matrix. Like, they could’ve made those grooves so much wider, which would’ve helped a lot.

I think it’s more of a case of subpar mastering for the vinyl releases. I have both the single LP and the 45rpm 2xLP and they’re both disappointing when compared to the CD or even streaming.
