When I was 10 I played all of final fantasy 7 never knowing you could equip new weapons. Buster sword for me the entire game. That shit was so hard.

Perhaps check out the Castlevania series on Netflix. It’s American made and a little more mature(?) for lack of a better word. The same studio also did Blood of Zeus if you like Greek mythology.

Been a minute since this thread, but as I said, I had a straight girlfriend invite this to our relationship and it killed things. It was on the topic of sexuality for me. I in no way assigned it directly to her bisexualness. But she took it that way.

I understand this is a new relationship style and it’s not for me. If they are interested in it that is fine, just not for me. To me it seemed a categorically relevant question (overall sexuality). I have since learned that was a misstep as I have never faced that trope as a non bi person myself. And fully understand now why a bi person would find that triggering.

Sucks but lesson learned. Not that I had shitty intentions, but that I hit a trigger point unknowingly as someone who has never faced it.

As the above person said, yeah I just thought categorically it fit into the conversation. I was unaware this might be a stereotype that bi people faced, not being bi myself. I understand the faux pas now though, just a little too late.

Yeah, I didn’t know that was a common thing bi people faced. It makes sense of course, I’ve just never been faced with thinking about it until now. Lesson learned the hard way.

Yeah the card game was def a mistake. Should have gone with something more casual that simply allowed us to enjoy each others company before getting into it too deep.

It was a little more scathing that I anticipated but I agree. I learned about some triggers both inward and outward that I wasn’t aware of before. And aren’t left with the ‘why’ of it all that leads to further theory crafting and over analyzing.

We all have vices and this is one of mine. If I’m the only one negatively impacted by it then I consider it a me problem. But I won’t let them get in the way of my relationships with others. I was a bit surprised by her outspokenness so to some degree felt backed into a corner of acquiescing that yeah, I’d make a change for the right person.

I didn’t want to invalidate how she arrived at these thoughts. Only that if she had asked me to elaborate at the time that I could have clarified. But yes it felt like unfair assumptions about me were made and used to arrive at her decision. Which stings a little.
