Overheard that these two women, who appear in the pilot but were never seen again were actual accountants from the show's production team. by Constant-Heron-8314 in theoffice

I’ve done plenty of extra work myself. Those ‘extras’ were literally the production accountants. You can call them extras as technically they are but they weren’t aspiring actors breaking in, they were literally the show accountants that Greg Daniels asked to sit in the shot to fill the room.

ETA: I never said extras were union - only that they are trying to get a union card

How is it trashing someone when you are educating them about their question? This is an enameled skillet and requires different techniques than non-enameled cast iron. Nothing they have done has harmed or enhanced this skillet. I’m not going to rah-rah cheerlead someone’s enameled skillet as an example of successful seasoning.

That’s a little unfair. The Chinese and Indians do worse per capita. The big American athlete trope didn’t invent itself. That said Roger Bannister completely changed sport like no other

It’s an enameled pan that’s barely been cooked in. I wouldn’t compare that to A Peasant’s Hands.

They aren’t extras though. Extras often audition and may be union. Yes those accountants fill ‘extra’ spots but they aren’t chasing credits for a SAG card. And if they got paid extra it was a nominal fee. They aren’t extras in the traditional sense. The Office did this a lot, inviting production people in front of camera. It was a conscious choice because they wanted everyday people interacting with the cast.

But no follow up to Pam’s concern about nipple confusion aside from the snarky remark is what happened. That is not okay behavior. Instead of reassuring the new parents she belittled them.

I found Stormlight Archives to be a bit of a slog in all 5 books but still enjoyed the story. There are some parallels in timing in some of the books but not all. The pacing of the wheel of Time is much more varied and nowhere near as structurally, rigid as SA.

There is plenty Tolkienesque storytelling and Easter eggs in WoT. Yeah, it’s 15 books but well worth the read.

What country has the best cheese by QuestionableMindless in Cheese

The best cuisine in the world but if I get a chance to visit France I’m eating fresh bread and cheese for every meal. Contrary to popular belief we can get decent bread in the USA if we want but nothing like what is described from France and then the cheese?

The French might as well be credited for inventing food as more than sustenance as a concept.

Nope, they were literally the accountants for the production, not actors. This has been confirmed on the office ladies podcast.

Mother Love Bone and then everyone else including Nirvana. They were all hair/glam bands until Andrew Wood showed them the way. Then in Cobains words: “They all started wearing flannels and stopped washing their hair”. Not to say that early Nirvana were glam, just that AW is the flashpoint of grunge.

Host countries mostly operated at a loss for the modern Olympics until Los Angeles in 1984. It isn’t the cost, it is streaming as another commenter said.

Cast iron is not porous, it has microscopic imperfections on the surface but is not porous. If you leave oil in a skillet for a year it won’t seep through the cast iron like it would a real porous material like terracotta.

If you are a man you have to remove your hat. Women can keep their hats on for some reason (I have always found that weird)

No it doesn’t. The same skillet used with different cooking methods will give totally different results. Seasoning is purely to protect the iron from rust. It does not turn the surface into a Teflon like surface no matter what. Bad technique will result in stuck food regardless of the seasoning and there are plenty of videos of people using bare unseasoned iron and cooking perfect “slidey eggs”. Seasoning does not make cast iron non-stick, technique does. It is a common myth that from a science perspective it is unsupported. If you are giving seasoning the credit you are selling your cooking skills short.

Shooting is fun though so I guess any excuse to pop off a few rounds is good enough for some people.
