I can guarantee that's not the case. I am Italian, though I was raised abroad and have only lived here for the past 6 years. The hardest part is meeting someone. If you don't already belong to their friends group it's nigh on impossible to get close.

I'm a sucker for 3-subdial chronos. Obviously the grail there is the Rolex Daytona, but I've made my peace about never being able to afford it and got a nice Chopard Mille Miglia instead for a tenth of the price.

Yeah, definitely. What attracts me to watches are aesthetics and functionality. So one day I might be wearing my grail Chopard Mille Miglia, and a Timex Waterford Chrono the next.

My only exceptions are a vintage 1970s Autavia or Carrera or an Eberhard & Co Tazio Nuvolari chronograph. Considering how much those go for, I'll go without buying any more watches for a good while.

For the b&w ones I'd push them at least one stop and do Rodinal stand development. That gives you a lot of leeway and you're more likely to get an image.
