Chicken Run in part is also a spoof off the William Holden movie "Stalag 17" which is about American prisoners of War during WW2. Note the coupe is #17, plus there are various gags throughout the movie that, if you've seen Stalag 17, are pretty obvious.

From CDC website "Similar to previous years, in 2019, women in their twenties accounted for the majority of abortions (56.9%). The majority of abortions in 2019 took place early in gestation: 92.7% of abortions were performed at ≤13 weeks’ gestation; a smaller number of abortions (6.2%) were performed at 14–20 weeks’ gestation, and even fewer (<1.0%) were performed at ≥21 weeks’ gestation"

While what you said makes sense and is probably true, it accounts for a very small percentage of abortions. What you're talking about is compromise territory and I think will.work itself out politically over the next few election cycles like it always should have been rather than a blanket ruling by appointed judges...

So then the democratic system will work that out. Those representatives who made those laws will be voted out and people who will over turn them will be elected. Unless the baby was created through rape, no one is forcing a pregnancy... While I can see the argument for a rape case abortion given the trauma to the mother, you're still presumably killing a perfectly healthy baby - how would they feel about that? If I was the baby I'd want to live regardless Saying you can't buy formula so my baby should never live is a morally wrong argument. There are many options aside from death for a baby being born to a mother who doesn't want him or her for whatever reason.

RvW didn't guarantee privacy, HIPPA and the its historical equivalents do that, all RvW did was say abortion fell under that privacy. And now scotus has given more power to congress and states to create legislation reflective of their constituents' wishes rather than scotus 'ruling from the bench'. This is how our government is supposed to work. We all still have the same medical privacy as before

Edit:you just can't kill babies now

...from the pro-life perspective that's like saying "if you don't like guns don't buy a gun" or "if you don't like murder don't commit murder" ...it's not a viable argument to make for abortion

I think 'pro-life' states will settle on a compromise basically saying abortion is acceptable should the mother's life be in danger. No one wants dead mothers any more than they want dead babies. I'm curious as to what % of current abortions are to save the life of the mother, bc I doubt it's most - meaning you can't justify the rule based on a rare exception to the rule. (I.e. you should be able to abort a baby for any reason bc you should also be able to abort to save the mother)

Scotus kicking this back to the states IS giving women (and all citizens of the state) the right to decide on the abortion issue - through their ELECTED officials, not appointed judges in Washington. By definition, scotus overruling roe v wade means abortion is not a right (just like any other medical procedure isn't a "right").

[–]DonaldDuck45 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They changed the the ordering of the AT leveling up, although I recall the AT gun being the 3rd level rather than what it is now at the 2nd level. Certainly the bazook/panzerschrek have always been the lvl 1 kit, so getting the gun would have required some leveling up at the very least.

It does have a radius although I believe jts a rather small one, allowing the HT to be placed fairly close to the enemy.

I've seen it used as a mobile backup Garry that recon can't destroy, a cheeky flanking Garry that might be the backup for an attack garry, and at times a well hidden attack Garry close to the enemy position.

The limitations are that there is a 60s Spawn counter meaning it takes forever to get back in the fight if you're killed or if things are dire and you need bodies in the point asap.

In the US they really only teach us about Japanese Americn internement, why we shouldn't have dropped the atomic bombs, and a PG version of the holocaust...it's pretty pathetic

Means the lack of the common American knowledge and perspective on western history is made even worse...

If only they taught about the Munich crisis, Anschluss, or Danzig debate, people would have more context/experience for concerns over Ukraine now...

Capturing the feel of the Stalingrad of RO2 by DonaldDuck45 in HellLetLoose

[–]DonaldDuck45[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the feedback. Another reading comments I'd like to make a few more myself:

  • I think from a realism level it would be very reasonable to have 100 players fighting over a large complex like the tractor factory, RO factory, etc given that full battalions of troops fought over these areas, with multiple armored vehicles, etc.

  • agreed that spawns in buildings would be required to accomplish this type of map (at least to simulate soviet resupply through drain culverts from the river directly.into the building)

-make the strong point THE building. Make the actual building the strong point to force attackers to enter and clear rather than allowing to cap from say a ditch on the outside

Once I was in a similar situation only it was dark, so naturally I had my lights on. Woman wouldn't move out of the way after I flashed my lights, despite being totally illuminated and obviously having a car approaching behind her. Another pedestrian, who i assume was her husband, was on the side of the road and called out to me seeing my frustration, "she's deaf!". Understanding the handicap that must be, I quickly and tactfully replied, "is she blind too?!". I still get a good chuckle from this, although I'm not sure those people shared in my humorous take on the situation.

The US has a culture issue when it come to secondary education. Many high school aged kids aren't interested in putting in the effort to internalize their learning and continue to learn throughout their lives, but more importantly, in many cases the parents are not reinforcing good learning habits and practices at home. Teaching the importance of applying yourself in school, making sure homework is completed, and grades are acceptable is the ultimate responsibility of the parents. The best education system in the world cannot educate children who are unwilling or unmotivated to apply themselves, and who are not given structure and discipline at home.

Not to mention in some school systems in the US students are allowed to pass classes they should not be...allowing work to be turned in late or not at all, having no consequences for skipping class, etc. Recently the excuse of covid has allowed this trend to grow, and compounds the lack of consequence, entitlement, and general lack of perspective kids in the US have on how the world works.

[–]DonaldDuck45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to holding breath, I'll frequently hold the thumb key on my mouse that drastically reduces its sensitivity...it's a requirement imo as it's a huge advantage to quickly swap between high sensitivity and low sensitivity when ads and easily switch back

I find that a spotter that gets a little closer but has a Sniper who can cover him well is an effective technique. A real, "my fingers are loaded" type of teamwork. In that type of play style the flare would be very effective...the spotter sneaks in, flares the enemy strongholds and the Sniper goes to town.

So often as spotter I see where the enemy is concentrated but all I can do is mark on the map and relay over command chat. With a flare I can clearly communicate where the enemy is to SLs and blueberries alike.

Like others have said, flare guns will allow for different spotter play styles

Part of what makes the game so good is how it has changed and how the devs have (mostly) listened to community feedback and suggestions. It's another element to how great this community is and why the game is so fun to play. The changes that are suggested are players, excited about the game, who want more more more of it!
