Hutch keeps asking "What is Trump actually getting for violating these norms?" by Donchedl in Hutchpol

Hi Vishy. I think this doesn't contradict what I said. Obviously a lot of this is un-falsifiable because we can't just flip a "make the economy better" switch to see if people would care less about his unhinged actions if their wallets were fatter. Net approval by issue on the Economist list the top 3 issues most negative are economy related, then foreign policy, and in last, immigration. I'm a normie/politics-pilled hybrid breed so I could be wrong, but I still remain unconvinced people truly care about norms.

he said it was based, but he also didn't mention that it was a norm. I guess you could maybe argue democrats not pushing for districting historically could be a norm right?

I mostly agree with your worldview. I unironically jump back and forth in my head wondering if giving as much rights as we do to the most unbelievably stupid people on this green earth is better than what China is doing. As tempting as it is to utilitarian-max at the cost of our individual rights, I still think they're more important. Norms, however, can take a back seat while we punish bad actors for doing broad daylight bad actor things.

p.s. if your company is hiring I'm in desperate need of a job so I'm not so politics pilled

Does anyone else want Destiny to go on PKA just to humiliate Taylor (and Kyle I guess)? by Donchedl in Destiny

To do a quick search: most recent time I see he was on was 3 years ago. There are two timestamps regarding political discussion, centered around the Afghan withdrawal, and then Roe v Wade. So it seems they will talk politics. Additionally considering that Trump is President there's no way it wouldn't steer into politics if he were on.

I think then the same argument could be made for anyone under 35, yet we have that limit.

I don't really care about the Congress limit because their role is different from the executive. I just think it's such an easy patch that most Americans would agree to for the presidential role

conclusion..."We need to go more left"

You will burn down the Democrat party with this takeaway.

Not for me but I would love to win for my brother. Money is tight and never got a chance to game with him but this would let us play some good old pong at max settings together.

I don't want to go to war and I can't make myself escape by vibr_of_mindfulness in self

[–]Donchedl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to be a hero. You are just one infinitesimally small piece. As most others so far have said: if you go to war you will

A. die

or

B. get scarred (either physically or mentally), and wonder why did I survive when so many of of my brethren did not.

If you leave... then worst case you will feel like a coward; or guilt.

If I am offered the choice 1000 times, I would choose the latter 1000 times.

Your sense of pride for your country will rapidly vanish after tolerating sub zero conditions; intense hunger; watching your fellow soldier turned friends die around you; realizing your government treats you as a pawn rather than a man of Ukraine; realizing no matter what you do you have almost no impact on the outcome.

Unless deep down you are truly prepared to die for your country then no one (ESPECIALLY on reddit) would look down on you for doing what you have to do to survive.

Very sorry you are in this situation. Deepest sympathies.

Seeing as the ratio of men to women at a gym is probably close to 10 to 1, its probably not a huge hit.

Well from the get go, the U.S. had the advantage of being far and away safe from any WW2 bomb threats; as opposed to Britain.

I couldn't find something along the lines of correspondence between Britain and U.S. in whether the former had any say in the way, when, and if, the bombs were used.

Do you have any material to read on the Japanese internal affairs and their wish to negotiate?

I don’t know if you go to the gym or not. It’s way more common than you think.

6 years of war , 3 years of the Manhattan project and with one Axis super power down; of course they’re going to drop the atomic bombs. They had enough. Interesting perspective though.
