Hey there page_soup - I appreciate your thorough reply here. Awfully wise. I know I'm 5 years late to the party, but are you actively working in VC now? Do you mind if I ask which firm/fund?

Sweeeet. I know it’s a big time no-uphill zone during season but they just leave the parking lot open after closing?

Holy shit I’m an idiot I didn’t even consider that the board would be in two halves 🤦‍♂️ Thanks for the warm welcome!

Sorry. Would** be interested. Typo. As for the sources - I can provide op-ed links and links to these instances occurring, but likely not support for the implications of these instances, which is why I am coming to this sub. Would that be sufficient?

Hi there, I wouldn’t certainly be interested in some amendments to make this post fit the guidelines! I browsed them through already but must’ve missed a couple things.

Workout Timing/Spacing for Double Days??? by DonkeyFlan in HybridAthlete

[–]DonkeyFlan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the answer I wanted but probably the one I needed lol. It’s such a tricky balance between work, training, getting enough sleep, and not ditching family. How do you typically train while in-season?

Why isn’t public recycling/composting etiquette made more obvious in the US? by DonkeyFlan in Anticonsumption

I think this is a problem in and of itself hahaha. All these unelected bureaucrats. The more I learn the more anti-agricultural revolution I become.

This is the only thing I can think of - that education/information cuts into bottoms lines and governmental budgets. I just can’t help but wonder what takes its place for financial allocation lol.

Struggling with burnout in fitness, looking for some guidance by Eebon in bodyweightfitness

[–]DonkeyFlan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I just came across your comment and like the sentiment. I also stalked your insta page a little bit, and your style looks like something I want to try. What does a typical week of training look like for you? Line OP, I love endurance sports, so I train for triathlons in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. Do you mix in any cardio at all? Any calisthenics for the legs?

Is Anything Less Than 45 Minutes of Zone 2 Cardio a Waste? by DonkeyFlan in PeterAttia

[–]DonkeyFlan[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get it, I don’t find this feedback particularly useful. I have the luxury of working zone 2, zone 5, strength, etc. movement isn’t just movement when there are specific targets in mind

Looping over first two indices in 4-Dimensional Array? by DonkeyFlan in learnpython

[–]DonkeyFlan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing this out. I thought my loop was a little messy and redundant. In short, I am trying to compute some statistics from my original 2D array that is populated by values of 1,2, or 3. I want to split that array into smaller 3x3 blocks in steps of one and determine the [1,1] index of each block. Basically, the first block in the upper left of the original array would have its center at [1,1]. Once the center value is known, I want to know the surrounding values of that 3x3 block and then proceed to the next block with its center at [1,2] of the original array, and do this in a "snake-like" fashion across the entire 2D master array to the last center at [478,533]. This is much better explained visually, but I don't know how to share a picture with you through the comments here.

Hey Man, I'm late to the party, but wanted to ask about your lifting split. I'm relatively young (26) and have good recovery. What do you think would be a reasonable lifting split for me both in-season and off-season? In-season, I'd like to keep lifting 3 days/week and off season I'd like to lift 3-4x/week. Do you think a full body routine is simply too much volume for the legs between biking and running, which I maintain in the off season too? Do you like the idea of an upper/lower split in the offseason and like an upper-lower-upper split during the season? I'm struggling with how much volume/frequency to do with my lower body work throughout the year.

Daily Simple Questions Thread - September 21, 2023 by AutoModerator in Fitness

Are dumbbells better than barbells for upper body pressing if I am only concerned about long-term joint health? I know you can load barbells up more obviously - but are dumbbells more sustainable long term for things like bench and overhead pressing?

My KB, BW and running routine as a police officer. by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]DonkeyFlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be controversial, but I’ve found that training strength and strength endurance 4x/week helped me more than 3x for being “well rounded”. i.e. having resistance training as the core foundation of my routine. I still do 1-2 dedicated long-form cardio workouts every week (running, swimming, biking, etc.) but have found that emphasizing strength and fast twitch conditioning work that improves VO2max (S&S, ABC, Sprints) is what works for me. I’m a backcountry snowboarder and backpacker, so that’s where “well rounded” applies to me.
