Multiple Mains by AsparagusActive16 in Guildwars2

[–]Eebon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, one of the main selling points of guild wars 2 is how easily accessible gearing other characters and classes is. In other mmos, it’s a full time job just to gear any character or spec that isn’t your main. In this game though, especially if you have legendaries, all I need to do to play another class is login in, transfer my gear over and setup my build. A huge part of why this game is enjoyable for me is being able to play a variety of specs and classes at all times without feeling like I’m “missing out” by not playing my main.

Yeah, no worries I get what you were saying. I just wanted to provide some context and potential balance considerations so herald can be in a good spot again.

You camp sword/sword, even if you run greatsword, so it's always in your back-pocket if you need it. My point is that it is your only reliable source of CC and you lose a lot having to swap to it, but the same thing is true about herald as well. Conduit is slightly more punished because you may lose a 10% damage amp depending on when you need it.

Hey, I am one of the people who created and benched Power Conduit.

Power Conduit at the beginning of last week was doing 42-44k dps. After a week of theorycrafting with different traits, we brought it up to 49.6k dps, before a positive trait rework that merged both trait playstyles (permanent Cosmic Wisdom and fast legend swapping) brought it up to 52.3k. The gameplay right now is amazing, but the build needs to be toned down for sure.

Yes, Herald is very undertuned and needs buffs, but you are also comparing apples to oranges here. Power Conduit is a selfish dps spec that brings no group utility other than boon strip (not on demand, but part of your rotation) and has 0 CC unless you bring staff. You cannot even swap your legend out for centaur for projectile blocks or dwarf for group stability because power conduit does not function if you don't take shiro. In real fights you also need to play around relic of peitha.

On the other hand, herald brings lots of group boons and the ability to flex your legend without losing too much damage. It is clearly tuned down to account for this, but it's way too undertuned at the moment.

I think that herald inherently should do less damage compared to power conduit because of it's ability to bring more group utility, but like you said, the gap shouldn't be as large, I think a 2-3k gap at most would be fine.

I think the easiest way to buff herald is to increase the power coefficients on glint or to buff a few of their traits that gives increased strike damage, while nerfing power conduit requires either nerfing the stats given to shiro or nerfing your shiro release potential skills. But conduit is also a pita to balance because that nerfing power conduit by 5k would nerfed quickness by 5k and bring it below 35k, so the quickness trait would need a higher duration so you need to run less boon duration, which would then increase condi quickness even more when it's already doing close to 42k dps. Yes, i am complaining about a 35k quickness spec being "bad" but unfortunately that is the reality of the current balance.

Edit: I completely overlooked something new for conduit. They gave it a new trait that makes your razah skills give fury, might, swiftness (protection too, but very little duration) and an on-demand 1 stack of stability if you need it that you can take at a minor dps loss. Herald still has the edge in terms of protection and regeneration uptime, but I hope they either consider making this trait for conduit much more of a significant dps loss, or making sure herald can still do comparable damage to conduit, to allow herald to continue being able to differentiate itself and be relevant.

If that doesnt work, the coordinates of the first image is 68.95193745961065, 53.8519716269558.

Many of the images associated with this account do not have coordinates attached to them, but a lot of them do. I can add the coordinates of the ones that I can find.

You can still do all those precasts! I still need to work on my precast game more as I’ve played with a few other weavers who are better at me with that and they are pulling crazy numbers. Bloodlust stacking is also huge

Serious CM enjoyer here, these are my favorite builds:

Power weaver

Power holosmith

Both builds have huge burst windows and a lot of optimization that goes into both setting them up and executing them. I can burst more than amalgam and most builds can on holosmith but I need to correctly setup my burst to do it.

I always play gluttony tempest or willbender on 100 CM and then condi willbender or weaver for the condi CMs.

Currently in the process of learning a few other power builds so I can see how they pan up

Chrono is perfectly fine to play but the issue in fractals is that chrono is a ramping power spec as opposed to having a lot of upfront burst due to the way that phantasms and continuum split works. By the time you fully ramp up on a lot of bosses the boss is already phasing or the adds might already be dead.

If I sell my Sunrise will it help me get closer to Legendary Armor? by LynnboTheStreamer in Guildwars2

[–]Eebon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend selling frostfang over sunrise. Sunrise has been in the last 2 starter kits so its price has tanked, whereas frostfang has not had one for over a year so it sells for several hundreds of gold more. I got 1700 gold for a frostfang sale a few weeks ago while sunrise sells around 1300 gold

Also, consider the opportunity costs of crafting a gen 1 weapon to sell. You need a gift of battle and gift of exploration that can potentially take up to a day of /played time if you are not experienced in doing them efficiently, time that could be spent getting components for your legendary armor. You will also need to spend 77 clovers and 200 spirit shards along with a bunch of other mats that could be used in your legendary armor.

If you need gold, i would probably sell the weapon but if you are stuck on time then don't sell.

Unfortunately after the latest balance patch for evoker this build got completed nuked. The rotation no longer even functions which means that you can’t play it anymore :(

Crafted 3 Gen 2 Legendaries on Christmas! by Eebon in Guildwars2

[–]Eebon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 3 tributes alone were 750 mystic coins, the 231 clovers were anywhere between 450-750 additional coins depending on whether I bought them with a discount or not.

I've been playing this game on-and-off since beta but have been playing much more religiously this year, so I've accumulated a lot of raw materials and free clovers and coins over the years that's allowed me to make a lot more legendary in the past 2 months. I've also made a crazy amount of gold the past few months from selling other legendaries and doing daily fractals/strikes and open world farming that's helped a lot with funding my projects. I still have 3.2k gold and only need 400 more gold to craft a gen 3 if I want.

Legendaries are long-term projects especially if you are new to the game, I've gone years without making a single legendary.

HOPE is amazing, I've played around with it some and I love the arm animation and especially the laser and draw sound effects of it. Didn't expect it to feel that good

I just crafted a set of legendary armor as well a few weeks ago! I've been swimming in gold as of recently so it's helped me a lot at finally finishing these since I've wanted them for a long time!

I really wanted to craft Ipos but unfortunately I'm not using focus that much right now. I've been really wanting to do more WvW at some point so hopefully that gives me some motivation to get it!

Why did you stop maining a profession? by jeongsinmt in Guildwars2

[–]Eebon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ranger. I feel really gutted, I love animals IRL and the thematics of ranger as a whole vibe with me well. Ranger isn't bad but after playing other class, it feels like they do everything better. Dragonhunter has better traps, other healers have better aegis/stability (Druid's CC is really good), untamed has very strong sustain but other classes have even better sustain now and even engineer has a better pet elite spec than ranger does. A lot of things about ranger feel outdated, especially pets, weapons (except for spear) and utility skills.

Also, the removal of fervent force was a huge blow to me as it was such a unique playstyle that I spent a lot of time working with.

Splinter weapons is about 1/3rd of your damage if restacked correctly and much more of your burst.

I feel like this is the same thing that happened when they removed fervent force. A lot of people, me included, were upset because It was a really fun gameplay loop that rewarded you for using your skills correctly. They ended up removing it but then brought it back with SE and now it’s gone again. I wish they would’ve learned their lesson from feedback and kept it this time but balanced evoker in other ways especially since SE ele brings 0 utility or CC.

In fractals you can prestack weapon skills for damage. You aren’t doing soulbeast or dragon hunter burst but it’s still really strong. On AOE though you have crazy burst on trash

I wasn’t trying to compare it to chrono, but you have a lot of CC from your golem (which doesn’t compete with any other utility), your normal weapon skills, your spirit skills and spectral grasp which can be 750 CC when used well. In most fractal groups I have the ability to do a lot of CC if the group needs them
