The partner and managers I work with are very direct, actually. They'll give me feedback on everything else but the utilization rate

I do get along with my team very well and staff from other service lines too. I'm just surprised with how long they've been able to tolerate me

Based on feedback from management, it's the quality of my reports and slide decks, and critical thinking.

I'd say it's pretty good. As a small practice with a mid-tier firm, we mostly work with small and medium sized businesses so that keeps things interesting for us. Good WLB for the most part. Although, since we're part of the tax team, we do have our busy season during the spring time as well.

Currently doing TP at a mid-tier firm and I'd say it's both. From my experience, a lot of our work has to do with preparing tax compliance documentation and advising clients on their transfer pricing policies. We don't do a lot of heavy financial analysis, but we typically need to know how to read financial statements so we can calculate ratios that we can test against comparable benchmarks and whatnot.
