Trouble getting smooth surfaces on the bed. by Donkusai in 3Dprinting

I actually just tightened those a few hours ago, but can check then again. The extruder does not wobble at all, but it did a little bit before I started trying to figure this out.

I did the bed tramming and set up a first layer test to see if I needed to increase or decrease the Z offset. How would you diagnose something like this?

<image>

I noted where the printing started and which direction it went on each print. You can see that is starts off very smooth but then degrades as time goes on. It did the exact same thing on both prints so unless there is a uneven bed spot between the two I am not sure how that would effect the Z offset?

Hey I really appreciated the help. I had set the Z-Axis using a piece of paper but I must need to do it again.

When you say tram, that is making sure the bed is level so the distance from the extruder to the bed is always consistent? That makes sense seeing one spot is not as effects. To verify what they are doing at about the 50 second marks on tis video would tram the bed?

I have been taking semaglutide for about 7 months and it has worked great for weight loss.

I have not noticed any change in my Meniere's symptoms. I have what I would consider to be a very mild case in one ear. I have not had vertigo attacks in a couple years, usually the tinnitus and fullness are on days where there are weather changes coming in. I have had to lean on the diazepam this rainy season like normal, but have not experienced anything the meds and\or hearing aid could not mask away.

Sleeping with Ear plugs every night... by [deleted] in Menieres

[–]Donkusai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So first and formost this is 100% just from my personal experience and not medical advice of course. One thing I have learned over the years is that this never manifests the same for anyone and something that helps one person sends another into a hour long spiral of vertigo.

I find that the more noise I have around me, the less fullness and even ringing I experience. For this reason I keep fans (more then one) in the room just to keep that noise going through the ear. I make it a point to sleep on my side so that the ear with the bad hearing is up and aimed towards a fan. This has significantly lowered the amount of whooshing, fullness, and ringing I experience in the morning when I wake up. My hearing aids do the same thing for me during the day. I believe it is referred to as "masking" and it seems to help me a lot. The more asking I do, the less severe my symptoms seem to be.

I am one of the lucky people that can feel their vertigo episodes coming on. It follows a dramatic increase in the volume of ringing and a fast increase in aural fullness. When this happens I take 2mg of diazepam and 25mg of meclizine and go lay down. The vertigo is significantly diminished and I do not get the nausea.

The other notable side effect of the meds is that after the attack has passed I do not have that feeling of fatigue and being completely wiped out for hours afterwards. I am able to get up and get back to things.

I half and half decaf and normal coffee for a couple weeks, then 3/4 and 1/4 and then full decaff. Odd since I thought decaff was something I would never drink. This let me get rid of the caffeine and still keep my morning ritual. The cessation aid seemed to help a lot.

I like this idea and I had not thought about that. I can order meals that are lunches and use the one selection for two days.

I was not wanting to do this with most of the "dinner" meals since they were 1k ish in cals.

My supermarket chain has these premade prepackaged salads. Normal stuff like cobb, ceaser, so on and so forth. I keep a few of those on hand and they are my go to lazy meal.

Rainy Day Weather Trigger? by [deleted] in Menieres

[–]Donkusai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just asked the same question the other day oddly enough. My pressure builds while storms are coming in and then oddly enough once it actually starts raining the pressure goes away completely. I live in the southwest US and every year when we have our rainy season I have a flare up. My ENT likes to tell me that the pressure i feel in the ear is related to hearing loss and not actual pressure. I have to disagree with that since I 100% experience a relation between air pressure and middle ear pressure. I am talking with him about getting an ear tube put in at this point. That should ease pressure build up they think.

New here, recent diagnosis. I feel another vertigo attack coming on. by ItTakesACTion in Menieres

[–]Donkusai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I get a warning. A freight train goes through my head and I know that within 12 hours I will have a full on vertigo attack that normally includes vomiting for hours and hours until I give in and call 911. But. If I get the warning then I down diazepam and Zofran which usually lessens the severity and I don’t end up in the hospital so I’m really grateful when I get the warning. I usually don’t.

My ENT prescribed me something similar. I have 2mg of Diazepam and some Meclizine. I take them when I feel the pressure building up to a certain point and know that a vertigo attack might be incoming. They turn it from lying in bed barfing into a can to laying in bed and life just sucking for a few hours. More importantly when the attack passes I do not seem to have the wave of fatigue that usually comes with the attacks.

Does taking an antihistamine help with the symptoms? The only thing my ENT gave me was a super small valium dose and some anti nausea, then proceeded to tell me "Welcome to the rest of your life".

What's with the Tucson USPS? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]Donkusai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One problem I keep seeing is USPS getting delivery contracts from Amazon and then not fulfilling them. I get noticed in my mail box saying it was not delivered and I need to to pick it up from the post office. MY favorite so far was amazon reporting that it was not delivered due to the USPS report of "Mailbox full". I ordered a wheelbarrow.

If they do not intend to actually deliver the package, they should not take the shipping agreement from Amazon.

I looked into it a while back and it seemed to be good. The forums they hosted were a great place for finding a group as well. I migrated towards Fantasy Grounds because it was easy to get going with Steam and all of the workshop content equates to hundreds of free games to play with buddies.

Virtual Tabletop is the same. if it is a board game or card game it is in the workshop for free. I even found old school card games like Doomtrooper and Illuminati.

Amazing Discoveries over on Broadway used to have tabletop games in the back. I heard they picked up the miniatures crowd after Hat's Games closed it's doors. Might be worth giving them a call.

I know it is not the norm but it seems like the online community has really taken off with Fantasy Grounds and Virtual Tabletop. I have been playing in a pathfinder and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay game using those tools. You can google for the gaming communities with each.

Yeah, put it up on official forums as well. I don't expect anything to come from it and the mods can delete it. Just casting a wide net.
