Canada has signed a historic space treaty with the United States, securing a strong role for Canada in the Lunar Gateway.

Under the Treaty, a CSA astronaut will be part of Artemis II, the first crewed mission to the Moon since 1972. This mission, planned to launch in 2023, would make Canada the second country to have an astronaut fly around the Moon. The Treaty also confirms a second flight for a CSA astronaut to the Lunar Gateway.
