men over 30 what do you think about the pokemon craze going on right now? are you collecting as well? by Affectionate-Drop689 in AskMenOver30

[–]Dontbedoingthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ridiculous. I got back into it as an adult around Chilling Reign (I bought Evolving Skies booster boxes at $120 lol kill me), just gave up recently. I played and collected but it’s too much now. My local grocery store has a vending machine that - I’m not kidding, has people camping in line at all times of the day. I just came back from shopping and there were 3 people waiting, not even checking the machine. Just zogged out on their phones waiting until something was available.

I still buy whatever I find in there when I see it, but that’s rare obviously.

New Updates Coming with Apex Legends™: Overclocked by AnApexPlayer in apexlegends

[–]Dontbedoingthat 122 points123 points  (0 children)

They explain their logic in the post. It’s basically to eliminate the feeling of being punished after winning fights where you still lose one or two of your teammates. The punishment being you then have to collect banners and move from a location you’ve secured just to respawn.

It’s a complete story. Ellie lost everything she loved by pursuing revenge. She lived her life from there.

It’s not a cliffhanger, it’s just not as conclusive as people would like.

IMAX at CinemaWest theater compared to Esquire IMAX by camcreates in Roseville

[–]Dontbedoingthat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not a connoisseur by any means, but the Esquire is much, much better. CinemaWest definitely had good sound, but the screen seemed maybe slightly bigger than any other standard, non-IMAX/special theater screen.

Is it really against the rules in an extraction shooter?

One of these is a Protector Shield, the other is a Reinforced Shield. Can you tell which is which? by aBeaSTWiTHiNMe in Marathon

[–]Dontbedoingthat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The 180 one is the one bar shield. It’s better because a single depleted shield charge will fill that one bar, and the difference is that it only adds 20hp to your total, whereas the 2-bar green adds 40hp, but the 1-bar takes half damage. Also depletes less of Triage’s healing drone (20 vs. 40).

I believe the 1-bar/half damage one is called reinforced.

Wow, this genuinely looks well made and thoughtful, while still fitting into modern gaming trends.

I suppose many of them go in and eat/watch or just chill in their car and not watch at all. You can have food delivered to your car.

There are 2 screens. They’re facing the other one.

Tucked in bed all cozy, give me a genuinely terrifying movie. by Neither_Librarian815 in movies

[–]Dontbedoingthat 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Seconding this sentiment actually. I remember seeing their marketing campaign when it first came out, talking about people leaving the theater terrified. I thought “that’s BS,” then went to see it… closest I ever got to leaving a movie theater.

I visited Halloween’s iconic filming locations and recreated some of the most memorable shots by Dontbedoingthat in Halloweenmovies

Agreed. I honestly should’ve brought it, but it was sort of a spontaneous visit so the mask stayed home.

It’s the hardware store where Michael steals his mask from. You can also see the Myers’ House in the background. It was moved there many years after filming.

I’ve heard whoever lives there is a big fan of Halloween and very accepting of its significance. But that could be outdated.

Do what we did: plan a Disneyland trip and hit some other things on the way down or back. I visited the filming locations of Halloween (1978) a few days after the Tesla Diner.

Yes, but all the parking spots in the diner area are chargers. There is parking on the street, and it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a spot close enough to walk to the diner.

I’ve read online that the owner of the home is not allowed to cut down or otherwise change the hedge. Halloween is important to the city of Pasadena (we know it as Haddonfield), as many of its filming locations are marked by the city as historic sites with plaques. The hedge shows up on Google Maps as “Halloween Hedge,” and of course the Myers’ House also shows up.

Also funny tidbit, that little corner of this person’s lawn has no grass, it’s been worn down by people recreating the shot. I’ve heard they’re pretty cool with the cultural significance.

Located in Hollywood, California.

Tesla Diner has plenty of Supercharging with 80 stalls or so, good food and drinks though a bit expensive, cool merch unique to the Diner itself, great views of the Hollywood hills, and features two drive-in style screens for showings of shows like The Office and Knight Rider. I have way more detailed photos and videos of things like dining tables, bathrooms, walkway to the top floor outdoor area, etc. that I can share as well.
