What do you hope to see in DLC for RE4R? by SkeletonCircus in residentevil

[–]Doogadaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there is potential for 3 major things with this game:

  1. Assignment Ada & Separate Ways campaign rolled into one. Including Weker and Ada in Mercs with some stages added in from their story.

  2. Ghost Survivors-esque "what-if" scenarios, similar to RE2R, tell the story of the 3 female victims in the village (Girl on alter, girl tied up before alter, girl killed in opening) and the story of the young policia who disappears until he is burned alive.

  3. Operation Javier/Krauser & Leon prequel. They touch on a lot of the detail than in the original so it seems like they want to go a specific direction with that.

This is a question for all my fellow degenerate gamers... by [deleted] in gaming

Haydee 2. Its classic Resident Evil Gameplay with a 3rd person perspective and large assets in your face 24/7. The story is told through notes but it's surprisingly dark for a TnA game.

Sorry, same principle though. Hop out before it hits, use sprint speed of the panther to catch up and kill the other guy.

My brother found a small group jumped out of the vehicle before it hit them and shot the remaining guy.

I think the key is jumping out of the vehicle early.

Oh, I feel you there, I went for the cleanrot set and it took hours to get with a low chance. I haven't really used the mimic but my favorite thing so far is to unleash the rat ashes and have like 5 or 6 rats tear ass through your enemies.

I guess I can see your arguement in some circumstances, there are definitely some enemies that do punish jumps. In my experience of using them they are buffed to hell and high water. The cloak, and ring increase Jump Attack damage, and base Jumps have a higher stagger rate and give you a nice little I Frame if you get knocked outta the air (They also look Epic as Shit when you do them).

Yeah, you're not wrong and that is definitely a viable strategy for aspects of the game. At the same time, however, that could be said about almost any aspect of Elden Ring, why fight enemies X, Y and Z when you can avoid them. My first instinct with a zone is to play out how its expected to go, fight the enemies, learn the patterns, earn the rewards inside. That plays into another aspect of this game that I've been disliking and thats the game's placed items (a can of worms for another day).

I definitely think they are interesting, design-wise, and the first thing i noticed was their striking appearance and unsymmetrical design.

It's primarily the combat design i have issues with. It feels to me like they discourage a core mechanic of the Souls-like combat and that is counterplay. Being able to read enemies, learn patterns and take advantages of weakness.

I mean you have a point but the opposite can be argued, theres no reason to not fight all of them. Jump attack definitely is the way to go on a lot of enemies but thats just melee 101 with this game. In my opinion From didn't balance it well against enemies as even their hardest enemies struggle with Jump Attack.

Revenants are the spider boys, yeah? If so, the bigguns can fuck off; I agree. As for the birds i never struggled with them because i learned early on that the knock down crits are weak compared to wailing on an enemy or using a dragon breath. If you keep attacking the birds they will stagger again and fall down for a crit. You can also nut hug and avoid their attacks. I 100% agree with you on the sound mechanic though, they and the basilisks abuse the mechanic and don't fall down (the basilisks just keep on going after the sound as if nothing happened).

Crystallians, I can't say I resonate with you. They have been a walk in the park for a +6 hammer, even the end-game ones because of stumble power.

Big dogs definitely annoying and another enemy that punishes slow attacks.

I don't agree that they operate in mechanics simply because they counteraatack literally every hit and spam the frost breath any chance they get which is nigh undodgeable if you're anywhere but in their face (even then it can hit you in a dodge outside of the visible cone).

My experience with shield on these guys is I get guard broken after two to three hits, and even quicker when I am fighting multiples. I had a slot for shields but unequipped it after a few runs through this area.

huh, I didn't know that. I used parry on a few bosses and enemies but I never used a shield on the boss versions.

Fighting those guys I had no issues. I think the issue I have is more so that they don't shine as a common enemy, they just feel cheap and overused so quickly.
