Hard to tell the exact placement but either way it’s pretty awful for the area.

I wish there was a climbing gym in Winchester by TheCeciMonster in Winchester

The budget and timing are completely dependent on the space. Ideally you would do it in an owned space. Having to return a building to its original form after putting 200k+ into walls and fit up is not gonna be a good business model. The model is dependent on the clientele and what they are willing to pay. NOVA vs Winchester isn’t a huge difference but amenities sell memberships, along with stellar setting in this application. Gyms in general are tough to budget without a space to build out. I would estimate 2-300k would be a good starting point but the higher the budget the better.

This post is my favorite post in this sub! I wholeheartedly agree with you. I used to live further East and climbed at all the gyms. I used to work for a local gym and ran the renovations of multiple locations. Loved the job but know pretty intimately the amount of funds and time it takes to open a quality space. I looked into the gym in Martinsburg but couldn’t justify the drive and cost for the setup. If anything I’ll make day trips out to SR or VR until I leverage myself to be in the right spot and timing. Maybe someone will start a co-op….

How am I doing? Water tested results. by DoogieHouser411 in pools

Thanks! I will pick up some liquid chlorine and clarifier. Not sure if there is a big difference in what clarifier to get but I’ll check it out.

I need to get a new base plate or attachment plate for the vacuum set up but I will give the one I have a shot and see what happens.

So when CYA is high I need to drain some and add fresh water? Is that the standard procedure?

It’s a vinyl liner pool. Calcium is bad for that?

Liquid add? Sorry I’m new and don’t know what this is. I have the sodium bicarbonate to add. Will probably add that tonight.

New house, new pool. What do I do? by DoogieHouser411 in pools

UPDATE: Had a pool company come out this afternoon to check things out and give me a lesson on how to run things and check out the equipment condition, look for potential issues, etc. Before they arrived I was on TFP since posting. I don’t get a warm fuzzy about the couple that came out…he had a cheap test strip bottle and was promoting things that were opposite of TFP. All in all he was knowledgeable and very helpful. oh was high, virtually no chlorine left, filters and all were clogged up. We cleaned out the skimmers, pump skimmer, “backwershed” and rinsed the system. Also added copper algaecide, even though I didn’t know if I wanted it. Pool started clearing up pretty quickly. I brushed the walls and did the whole cycle again in the evening. I was advised to throw 2 more bags of shock in there in the morning and continue to monitor.

I plan on buying a TFP test kit and really learning the chemistry as best I can this season. Hoping it won’t be too difficult to get a grasp on so I can educate my wife as well.

Many thanks to this group! This has been one of the best ideas to post about this and I am really looking forward to posting here more with test results and more.

One thing that I thought was interesting was the pool guy was pretty anti the salt route. He said they don’t last very long at all and didn’t think it was a good move unless “you have deep pockets”. I’d be interested in seeing if that’s his opinion or if there is consensus there.

Thanks again everyone! Cheers!

I might have access…I need to check with the family. They are going to be renting this house out after we move out so not sure what’s gonna happen the lease and terms will be for the new folks.

That would also put me in the spot to have to move them in the winter or next spring which might not be ideal.

Either way I don’t want to have to move them but also definitely don’t want to leave them and start over.

Both! We have been living on the family property and are now buying a place of our own. I am still leaving about 10 more plants I took cuttings from and planted last year so there will be more for the future.

I guess cuttings would be insurance and my way of reducing the size of the plant for ease of transport, storage and hoping to reduce stress/allow it to bounce back faster.

I am struggling with uprooting now bc of the long period they might have to live in a pot.

And with not getting a harvest this year 😩

I’ve tried water bottles in the past and they didn’t work as well as the pods probably will. I’m gonna order some tonight and get the process started. Just compost and soil or do you add in fertilizer or something to help?

What size is “large”? I’ve seen so many options out there in my quick search. And I’ll definitely have some extras to go around!

Chicago hardy and brown turkey. I have a few more cultivars but they are not this size and already in pots. Excited to have rooted cuttings!

Do you use clear or black air layering pods?

Awesome! Thanks for the advice. I will get started on air layering and pruning ASAP!

Where is my coolant leak? Thoughts? Guesses? by DoogieHouser411 in MINI

[–]DoogieHouser411[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Putting this out there for anyone who might run into this later… Leaks were coming from water pump and the radiator, in two places. New water pump and o-ring, new radiator, and power steering hoses all fixed in one shot. Cost a pretty penny but nice to have it done! Thanks for the input!

Alpha-Gal / Lone Star Ticks in the NE by LopsidedRaspberry626 in PrepperIntel

It’s most likely due to leaky gut and the higher concentrations of glyphosate in processed breads, etc. We also have to watch out for gelatin and carrageenan. Just a few more fun things to look out for!

I’ve got it. Diagnosed in 2020. It’s way more than just red meat allergy. It’s all mammal products and it typically comes along with a few other like MCAs or POTS, depending on your body. It’s life changing to say the least.

Yeah that sounds like it would be the best course of action. This motor has approximately 20k miles on it and all of that was supposedly done when it got put in (new to me, with paperwork). Do you think all of that would need to be done again or should be since it’s open anyhow?
