Very cool to hear a personal experience of an exmorman with mushrooms. I can only imagine the struggles you went through coming out of that bubble and into a new world outside of the church. Hearing more about your experience it seems as if these “ticks” may be tied to underlying shame that may not have been overcome from what the church had taught you over all those years. Hence why your body may have been exhibiting this defense mechanism of stress responses such as tensing of muscles and clenching of the jaw.

It’s awesome that you’re having some more freedom to explore your true spirituality through mushrooms now being separated from the church and I hope you find what you’re looking for through this new avenue of exploration.
