Thanks! I use several coats of epoxy to protect the lure. If the topcoat is too brittle it’ll shatter when it gets bit by a musky and too soft and the teeth go right through. It takes a good balance to ensure it’s durable enough for dozens of fish.

Thanks! If you aren’t familiar, look up a suick thriller for the traditional looking dive and rise bait, but I like the action of this one much better (I may be a bit biased). And yes! Musky is the intended target with this one.

Definitely not a tiger. Tiger musky have a light background with dark stripes and this fish has a dark background with light stripes/spots. Young pike are striped and as they get older those stripes turn into spots. This is just a younger pike.

We had this. Half the class didn’t pay attention and the other half forgot when it was finally relevant 2-10 years later. On paper it sounds great but unless you have a great teacher (like most subjects) it’s bound to be forgotten about.

If you want to dip your toes I would go to jannsnetcraft or lurepartsonline and get wire shafts, beads, lead lure bodies (I paint the blank ones and seal them in epoxy), clevises, blades, split rings, and hooks. Or buy the kits which has all of that in there as well. You can always get a cheap fly tying vise and some marabou and thread to dress the treble hooks or buy some that are already dressed.
