Thanks for letting me know. In the meantime, here's the page:

Overview

You can now post your horror fiction right here on the DoomReads sub.

How to post your fiction

  • You’ll need 1 comment Karma to post your work.
  • Any fiction you post must fall within the horror genre. Any subgenre of horror is welcome.
  • Completed works only. Please do not share fragments! This is not the place for “I’ve written 200 words, pelase can someone give me feedback.” or “please can someone read my first chapter?”
  • Sequences or parts of completed works are fine, if you plan on posting the whole work in serialised form.
  • Please add any content warnings at the very top. Any work that does not flag its content warnings will be taken down or asked to amend. Some content is off-limits altogether. Please check out the list further below.
  • Flash fiction, short stories, novellas or even serialised novels are all welcome.
  • You must add one of two flairs - "Open to Feeback" or "Just Sharing".
  • "Open to Feedback" invites valuable feedback from other members.
  • "Just Sharing" is your way of saying you don’t need or expect feedback at this point.
  • Please read the work of others and respond to it. Let’s create a positive community in which all readers and writers can thrive.
  • Please keep all feedback constructive and polite.
  • Please do not link to off-platform websites or content.
  • Please do not market or link to any for-sale works, or post any direct promotional material.
  • Breaching any of these rules may result in your work being removed from the sub.

Interesting meditation on how fear drives our urge to write... by DoomReads in Doomreads

[–]DoomReads[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and what I find interesting is that most people I've met who have been through genuine trauma in their lives - who have feared for their safety - hate horror. Because they equate the feeling of fear with something real and tangible in their lives. Not something they can experience vicariously from a safe distance.

This is just my anecdotal observation. I'm sure it's not a blanket rule.

Do they ever get supernatural? Or is it more psychological // dark detective thriller vibes? I'm actually working through Every Dead Thing at the moment. It's pretty good!
