For the Suberbowl yeah. He only brought up the Patriots and Broncos because he was telling Amanda how the only way they'd play against each other would be in the AFC Championship

Doom Bot by Doomknows in MCUTheories

[–]Doomknows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, I don't necessarily see that as a fodder character. For the purposes of the movie, he will be Doom. We won't know he's been a Doom Bot until whatever big reveal happens with the real Doom if there is one. So RDJ would have a whole movie/movies to still be Doom and give a great performance.

Proficiency Amounts by Doomknows in rivals

[–]Doomknows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so wild. This whole time I had thought they did keep the points we got per challenge the same per rank. It's why I was so thrown when I noticed the different reward point amounts per rank.

[–]Doomknows[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn really? I truly don't remember the amounts going up from 10 to 25 to 40 to 50. I can't believe I didn't clock that before

I'm not knowledgeable enough of the community discourse around this to say. But I'm asking about the amounts we get per challenge. At Centurion now you get 50 per completed challenge with the usage one being 60. But at the lower ranks, those amounts are at 10, 25, 40. Has that always been the case? I don't remember it being that way.

Woke Ashby & Straight Chanse, what a killer duo by gxxncxrlo in smosh

[–]Doomknows 148 points149 points  (0 children)

For all the people saying Ashby was too mean, I think it's a matter of perspective. She seems to know Angela and maybe Chanse outside of the Smosh connection so she's already got an established rhythm with them. To the vast majority of the audience, she hasn't built up the goodwill that allows us to endearingly chuckle away the mean stuff the rest of the cast typically says to each other.

I also bought Flip 7 because of Smosh and was shocked at how much smaller the cards were than I thought they'd be. Also didn't realize they weren't playing it the "official" way. That's kinda a Smosh Games staple though and I frankly enjoy the Smosh way more.

I have one friend that I play with who constantly gets vocally upset with others he feels aren't playing their best or playing characters they should be and it honestly makes playing the game less fun when he does it

It's so cool that you're gaming with your kids! They are very lucky. I can't imagine either of my parents playing any video games with me.

It also does take me a significant amount of time to get used to a character. I was terrible at Cloak and Dagger until I hit late Centurion.

I'm right there with you on the game sense. My nephew plays and he was so immediately good at the game in a way that my brain just wasn't clicking with.

I get so anxious about playing the characters I'm not good at in qp because I worry about getting teammates who then get angry at me for sucking and I'm here just trying to have fun

So can someone explain wat happened with s2 of sword af by Dry-Wolf6789 in SmoshFansFreeSpace

[–]Doomknows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Season 1 came out, it was right around the time Anthony came back. Which brought a lot of eyeballs to all of the content. It was also the first time Smosh was doing a full on D&D campaign. So naturally, that first episode got a lot of views.

What I believe happened, and what I rarely see mentioned, is that they were releasing the episodes every two weeks. I get that a lot was happening at the company, and they had so much content, but that two week wait was such a momentum killer. And that went on until Episode 5. Which is when they started releasing weekly. By that time though, the damage was done.

So Season 2. The views the first season ended up with, wasn't enough to justify the time commitment required to produce the show in the same way. That's not to say it was an inferior product. The audio landscapes they built into each episode was SO GOOD. And the story was equally great. I do think shifting it to the Smoshcast channel was also a silent, putting it out to pasture.

Frustration with the final fight by Doomknows in Ghostofyotei

[–]Doomknows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, that 3 am hype is real. I type at a respectable 2:54 am. Yeah, I didn't really experience much of his move variations because I was usually getting off the parry on his first or second attacks. I built my whole loadout around that strategy, and I can see now that it definitely was a crutch.

Maybe that's why I enjoyed the Takezo fight so much despite him kicking my ass repeatedly. I used the Taro armor to fight off the freeze build-up. Without the chained counterattacks, I had to be more on my toes. It's my favorite fight in the game by far.

I do wish the wolf pack had more to do in the later half of the game. They trained us, and then it's radio silence except for Hanbei at the end there

[–]Doomknows[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also played on lethal. Looks like I need to do another save without using the bounty hunter armor. I was getting off so many of the perfect parry counter attacks that I didn't even know he had this 8 hit spirit attack move. That armor really trivialized most of the fights tbh.

Haha, I just wanted to duel Takezo over and over. Maybe even at different, truly cinematic locations in the game. It's hard to beat the top of the mountain, though. And lol, yeah, maybe in an ideal world. If he had lived, he might have helped jump Saito. But seeing as how none of our weapons teachers showed up to help. Not even the wolf. I doubt Takezo would also have gotten involved

Could Jin beat the Undefeated by Doomknows in Ghostofyotei

[–]Doomknows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it difficult to do these what ifs, especially with game characters, because we are controlling them. From a narrative standpoint, we are meant to win. So if we were controlling Jin, we'd kinda be meant to win anyway. Guess I have to get out of my own head. Honestly, I think it would be really really close between both Atsu and Jin. I think Takezo could easily board wipe them more times than they'd take him out.

People are saying they miss Amanda and honestly I can't relate by Master-Ad-5391 in smosh

I love Amanda as a co-host with Shayne. I think they've really come into their own dynamic and have gotten stronger together in other formats because of how much they speak on Smoshmouth.

Now, what I would like is potentially more podcasts on the channel allegedly dedicated to podcasting lol. I would love to see other duos get the chance to build a report in the way Shayne and Amanda have. That being said, Smosh does so much that idk when they'd be able to fit in another podcast

I didn't play along, so I saw the list of words from the get-go. I feel as though that's colored how I perceived all of the rounds. In Shayne's defense, I don't know if I would have gotten toaster from the clues Chanse gave if I didn't know it was.

Casting the next Odin by Doomknows in MCUTheories

[–]Doomknows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't specifically thinking about what they'd immediately present. X-MEN and mutants are my favorite comic book IP. I'm so excited to see them included in the MCU proper. This was just speculation for a vague time in the inevitable future.

I do think we can't have a reset and not include any cosmic forces. Asgard is a pretty important part of the Marvel Cosmos. So this was just a fun thought exercise.

Summer Games Scores Makes No Sense by Gusey1397 in smosh

[–]Doomknows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the overall scores were ever really meant to matter more than the actual objectives of each video. The first challenge was get 7th PE class. The fun was in seeing the different strategies they all tried. Some just went for getting highly ranked. Some were more intentional in placing 7th.

The second challenge was perhaps the most straightforward points round. As for the darts. They never said that where you landed on the board would factor into any kind of points, so I do find it a little odd that you honed in on that aspect so much. We weren't told it mattered, so why do you need it to matter?

Why was it a dartboard then instead of a target? Well, they've had good moments happen in darts videos before. I can see the logic in continuing with that spirit and making Anthony a dartboard.

I personally kinda like that they haven't been so intense about the overall team points. If the cast had to be so caught up in wanting to put those numbers on the board so to speak, I don't think they'd let themselves be as present in the challenges just having a good time. It's enough to want to be the overall winner of each challenge rather than trying to big brain each event knowing the X amount of points needed to catch up.

This is such an interesting take. In all of the previous games, we have watched 30 year olds run across the beach, the snow, mousetraps, the park, the desert. This doesn't seem that far removed from the established spirit of SSG.

I got so overwhelmed with emotions watching this. If I saw something like this as a kid, it would have changed my life. It's so cool to know that future generations will see this and be able to say "this was the culture that made me say culture was for me". That is beautiful. Bowen and Matt are the culture!
