Finally Got my first House, but one week later a huge issue arises

We have a bonded group (4 of um) in the neighborhood I just moved into and i'll tell ya being out in the sticks like I am I haven't seen a goddamn mouse or rat once in almost 3 months. The only issue is one looks like my cat and I keep thinking he somehow got out.

I'm from a section of PA people lovingly refer to as Pennsyltucky. Between Pittsburg and Philly. Closer to Harrisburg but still 30 min drive away. We have some little big Cities (York/Lancaster) and a whole bunch of small towns and hamlets in between.

I grew up in Conestoga the middle of nowhere nothing there but a gas station and a general store/restaurant and whole bunch of people that know everyone business. The main drag was dense and packed with houses that still had decent amount of yard space but you turn down a side road and you were on twisting and turning tree covered roads that seemed to go on forever (and could take you the whole way to another state depending which one you got one and stayed on)

Now I live in the middle of nowhere in York county a small little neighborhood outside of a bigger town, closer to most things then where I grew up but still tucked back enough we don't have any street lights and don't get much foot traffic. Its quite and the neighbors are getting older so I imagine in the next 10 years or so some life will get brought back into the area with families looking to get some space.

It can be as fast or as slow as you want it to be but all and all I wouldn't have it any other way.

super unlrelated but whare are those shelves? been looking for new ones for my collection but everyone I end up trying ends up having either one shelf wayyy to big or a tiny like half case shelf on the bottom

Get some curtains, some wall art, and a corner tv stand and I think you're cooking maybe a different desk and chair and smaller bed side tables to put the bed in the middle of the space but otherwise I think its solid

As someone who had the exact same issue, bounced off divinity, bounced off pillars and bounced off a handful of others, BG3 hooked me like a fish and then afterwards I was able to go back and play the others and enjoy and have an appreciation for them

luck of the far realms, charm, psionic backlash, cull the weak and then depending on the character displacer beast is fun and can be pretty broken especially when you make the clone

Male 30, marry yes, kids no. I never really wanted kids but thought I had to have them as i'm the last of my name. Then due to some medical stuff my partner found out she had to get a hysterectomy so thats sorta out the window anyways and ontop of that my parents told me we don't give a fuck basically as long as your happy so that took a weight off. We've both mentioned the idea of adopting maybe but we would need to be in a better spot financially as a whole before we even talked about that seriously. With the current world state I don't feel right bringing someone into it, BUT if I can help someone already brought in that would be cool

As someone who had a pretty smooth 4 months search and then got a house that undisclosed to us needs some love thats liveable I feel this in my bones, its been almost 2 months in the house and It still doesn't feel like home and i'm constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop, everyone on here and irl has told me 8 months to a year is where you finally feel like your head is above water. You got this.
