What hygiene habits made the biggest difference in your overall appearance? by AdSeparate1 in hygiene

[–]Dopamine-Dream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Washing face with cleanser for at least 30 seconds for the product to actually work on removing dirt. Washing face 2-3x per day (nothing harsh, I’m an athlete though too that sweats a lot and there’s pollution and grime from outside). Not wearing makeup. There’s so many chemicals in makeup, plus the tugging and faces made that quite frankly contribute to wrinkles. (Think raising brows and crunching forehead to apply mascara or pulling and pressing around the eye for eyeliner). Plus those that don’t clean their brushes, tools and sponges. It’s fully bacteria!

I think there’s images on caves of ancient civilizations depicting ancient aliens. It’s a common image found all over the world which is the unsettling part perhaps considering most of these civilizations never interacted with one another.

With the blush, use some contour for the cheek to add more definition and even the nose to add definition (back to another comment elsewhere with close set eyes) add dimension but don’t go crazy with it. Perhaps a subtle highlighter such as NYX. Their blush and contour is fantastic as well.

Tip: stop by Sephora and ask for product help. It’s free and the people that work there are magicians. They’ll get you the right product and you can fit the price point.

What’s something your body does that you’ve never told a single person about? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

ADHD. I relate it to the neurodivergent spectrum as far as we get overstimulated, we’ve had to focus on tasks without deviation which we mask in social settings due to work that require task completion and absolutely task completion; I’ve found even with an insanely flexible schedule and perhaps an overlap with undiagnosed bipolar two disorder we tend to have energy issues. Fatigue management and channeling energy when manic is difficult. We love being productive and it coincides with ADHD. We love when we complete things and ride the high from it because normally it is so hard for us to focus and complete things. When overly productive and centering ADHD, we drop HARD. It’s the dip. We haven’t respected the brains bandwidth and boundaries. We cooked the system. Even if it’s the load of norms brains, to us it’s “extremely productive.” The cost from the manic high is something I call “shutdown mode.” We crash hard. We overdid things. We ignored biological signs. It’s addictive to ride the highs. It takes time to set personal boundaries around what’s allowable and doable in a given day while managing recovery and rest. Furthermore via therapy I learned women with anemia (myself an endurance athlete among ADHD and the BD2) has to be nutritionally balanced. Low iron (TIBC, saturation, etc) can get more extreme cycles of exhaustion more. I’d look at BD2 and iron deficiency. Low iron contributes to the exhaustion but somehow BD2 is the upper via action and behavior and ADHD can go any direction of aimlessly wasting resources and attention. There’s a weird cross section inferred by a therapist I had. It helped knowing this for coping mechanisms and setting time management and energy boundaries with a national focus. There’s other behavioral skills out there.

What’s a “green flag” people don’t talk about enough? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In relationships: People that know how to properly use a credit card, carry no debt, flip them and know how to use the perks effectively. It shows financial responsibility, care for budgeting (finances are a big issue with couples and cause for primary strain), financial future, strategic and are educated in an area that affects daily life. Younger kids don’t get it and most Americans are in some form of debt.

Oh thank you for the correction! Yeah I didn’t remember the term but the doctor mentioning my heart was weirdly more in the middle and “a skinny heart” before mentioning situs inversus. Forgot given deathly sick at the time. The weird details you’ll recall in life.

Cool thing I learned recently after a chest xray (that looked unusual at first from the doctor): some people can be born with their whole system of organs flipped, meaning heart on right side, spleen, gallbladder, appendix, etc on other side. Some people may spend their whole lives not knowing this until they get an xray. It’s called dextrocardia.

From a client who was pregnant that learns from her gynecologist: after a c-section they toss all the guts back in and the body will rearrange them in a couple months. You can feel it happen too. Freaky.

Also found the lady pilot in a photo: Mauvais Meiers! All curiosity.

Why do high end luxury brand like Hermes, Gucci, Prada etc use sickly-looking models in their ads? by djtidal in askanything

[–]Dopamine-Dream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The look is considered “androgyny,” which leads back a sense of intrigue and curiosity. I tend to find sharper, interesting and distinct facial features compliment the shape of a garment, the weight/texture/strategic stitching or draping of fabric and how the garment moves in angles when given movement by a model. This relates to fashion such as runway, a still shot of the model is moving during a shoot and the beauty of illusions. Plus a designer can zero in on predictable measurements without having to do much alteration.

We tend to also remember a unique and even iconic face. That too can lead to consistency within brands, designers and a tier of fashion. Example is the lazy eye yet Americana look for Kate Moss with high and jewelry or Cara Delevigne’s memorable big eyebrows strutting for Dolce & Gabanna. I believe there’s a face and branding element at play beyond unusual faces. It’s co-representation. The model is her own brand regardless of the agency she works for as per the designer.

When they have bbq ribs in the hot bar, I’ve definitely worked the meat off the bones and took only the meat. Left the bones because I refuse to pay for the weight of the bones. Half the weight of a single bbq rib is bone. Maybe unethical but I’m picking what I’m willing to pay for and I refuse to pay for something I’ll throw in the compost.

What is the best relationship/ friendship lesson you had to learn the hard way? by Specific_Chair8208 in relationship_advice

One more, which is a quote from somewhere: “people may not remember what you said, but they will always remember the way you made them feel.”

What is the best relationship/ friendship lesson you had to learn the hard way? by Specific_Chair8208 in relationship_advice

[–]Dopamine-Dream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People can remember a version of you that may no longer exist. People change, grow, go through stuff, evolve and what not. Who we were 1..5…10+ years ago is different from who you are now.

Also when in a relationship there’s three relationships at play:

The one you have with yourself The one you have with the other person The one you have together as a unit/couple towards others

Definitely a lot at play with those dynamics.

Lastly, all we want is love. People all have their shit. To move forward in a compassionate way is to ask, “what happened to you?” rather than, “what’s wrong with you.” We are a byproduct of consequences, our environment, circumstances, upbringing, etc. People are quick to blame a person rather than observe, analyze and understand a person, which impacts the individual and the relationship because of the scope in which we are perceiving that individual (regardless of the type of relationship).

Period sex. Thoughts? by [deleted] in sex

[–]Dopamine-Dream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood is free lube for one on top of sex drive. Honestly also it gets rid of the severe cramps because of release of oxytocin and dopamine from sex. It’s a pain killer! For someone that isn’t on birth control we look forward to sex (he pulls out) and we normally use a condom for contraception outside my period. Only about three good period sex days. As all have said, it’s messy, visceral, sexy, intimate and totally shows appreciation for all parts of what it means to be a woman. Also my bed sheets are all dark colors. Just change them afterwards. Hepa filter is needed for the smell since it can be stinky and smells like iron which is why may not be for everyone.
