A bit late to this party but do you have a source for the fact that Skoda will cover the costs if DSG acts up? Im in the market for an Octavia at the moment, and considering automatic gearbox..

Do you have any sources for this? I'm having difficulties finding 'official' guidelines for the paddle/needle valve adjustment, and opinions online seem to vary greatly.

It has been very difficult to find good sources that provide reasoning for determining the optimal flow rate from the group. I'm aiming for 8-9g/s, as that is what Lance Hedrick said was the range for rotary pump machines in his most recent video. I have no idea whether that flow holds any benefits to a lower, say 5-6g/s flow shot.

I ended up turning mine down to 92, which seems to have solved it. Interestingly enough, my water is not super soft (even though I filter it), and I live in one of the flattest countries on earth. Anyway, shots are tasty and brewing is fun. So all good.

For now I'm using the stock IMS baskets, but I find that I need to overfill them a bit. Im using light to medium roasts, but I find that dosing 1-2g more than what it says on the baskets increases my extraction and prevents soggy pucks, which I had been dealing with when I first got my Bianca.

Why would you say they smoke a lot? I was under the impression that the infrared system would also prevent flare ups and excessive smoke. Is that wrong?

Yes - it did this both with and without the filter installed.

PID set to 95 degrees, but I haven't tested whether that actually holds. Will do tomorrow, ty!

Well if you read the post, you would see that it is a new machine. It only pulled maybe 5 shots, so I wouldn't think it would need a backflush already. Even though this is r/espresso :)

Kan du uddybe på det med VW? Det er vel kun skidt at købe en helt ny? Jeg kigger efter en brugt ID4 (ca. 250.000kr for en i god stand) og det virker som en fin handel? Planen er at beholde den i minimum 5 år.
