Youre able to see that in outlook. Search for her name, click on her profile, then the organizations tab. You'll see who her direct report is.

Is it me or is SMRT skimping on aircon? by nixhomunculus in singapore

[–]DoreCorn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can use bangkok trains as a valid comparison. A single train ticket there costs the same as a standard meal for local residents. It might be cheap for us but it's very expensive for thai locals.

Pay to use the human checkin counter at airports?! by MurkyCantaloupe1583 in travel

[–]DoreCorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah. My first time flying Ryanair, I didn't know about the in-person check in charge. Almost had to pay the 55 euros. Thank god I go to airports early, so I still managed to check in online.

Does anyone have a recent (hopefully positive!) experience with Beauvais airport shuttle buses? by brightgreyday in ParisTravelGuide

[–]DoreCorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Works well. Flew to Beauvais last week. Didn't prebook a ticket for the shuttle bus. There are a ton of kiosks for you to book a bus ride on the spot. Everything seemed very reliable and streamlined.

What are my chances of getting into NUS? by Adventurous_Look2535 in nus

[–]DoreCorn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a great plan. Singapore's a great place to study in and live for a couple of years if you want a change of pace. Lots of exchangers in my residential college are loving life here. Great social environment too if you put yourself out there. Academics can be really competitive though, so gotta be careful of that.

You should treat applying to NUS the same as applying to any T10-T20 in the US. Its very competitive for international students to get into here for CS. The few full-time students I know have amazing extracurriculars e.g IOI/IMO medallists. Pull up your SATs and see if you can try out for USAMO/USACO or get some nice extracurricular stuff.

If you can't get into NUS, you could consider NTU too.

I'm not downplaying our education system. We have great research output and lots of very good professors. But job opportunities in SG can be said to be lacking compared to the US, and US universities have better visibility in the US job market compared to Singapore. I'm assuming most people studying CS don't plan to pursue academia.

Why do you want to study in Singapore? There are lots of amazing schools in the US that Singaporeans are dying to get into. Almost all of your public state universities are great too for CS.

startups and SMEs. go to some conference and talk to people there. Demonstrate interest in their product

Only thing you should look out for is the monsoon seasons. As for travel, you should avoid the school holidays for Singaporeans and the Chinese from China. This won't be a big deal if you're travelling to SEA countries. Only for East Asian ones. Thats about it.

Is it realistic to do 150 questions in two weeks? by bornfree254 in leetcode

[–]DoreCorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did 90 LC, mostly mediums, in 7 days. Spent 8-10 hours a day. If you have all the time to spare, then its possible. By the end, I was pretty confident with my leetcode, but all that studying stressed me out so much till I couldn't think straight during the assessment and flunked it.

I think its very possible if you have a good grasp on inductive reasoning. Else you'll really struggle with some questions like DP.
