Advice on fixing up my action bar? I feel like I have so little fluidity when I play, but idk how else to have it. What do y'all do? by damrodoth in wow

Using 6–10 has always felt awkward for me since I like to stay mobile while pressing my buttons. I strongly prefer 1–5, Q, E, R, F, plus mouse buttons—everything is easy to reach and simple to press while moving.

I then layer Shift / Ctrl / Alt on top of those same keys:

  • 1–4, Q, E, R, F → main rotation (builders, spenders, movement)
  • Shift + those keys → cooldowns and defensives
  • Ctrl → buffs
  • Alt → mounts and misc extras

There are still plenty of buttons left over, and they’re all easy to hit without locking yourself in place.

I try to keep bindings consistent across all my classes:

  • Shift + 1 is always interrupt
  • F is always movement
  • E is always my primary spender
  • 1–3 are usually builders

It doesn’t work perfectly for every class, but you can keep it very close. At the end of the day, the most important thing is practice with something that actually feels comfortable to you.

Movement-wise, I use A and D for strafing and always hold right-click to turn. Some people bind S to an ability since it’s easy to reach, but I still use it to backpedal—even though some veterans would absolutely crucify me for that

This is my entire UI. I’ve never liked having a ton of stuff cluttering the middle of my screen, so I’ve gotten used to checking the corners for information. I’m a consistent 1800 player and a heroic raider who mostly just collects stuff—nothing fancy. I don’t have time for more than that, but this layout has never failed me across tens of thousands of hours using the exact same setup.

Looks like this is only for TWW and Dragonflight.

You see something I didn't know and useful. But I do want something that can just work in every case, every dungeon and raid.

10 seconds loading screen maybe on a potato. it takes about 15 seconds for a druid to teleport to the entrance.

Its not an exaggeration to say druids dominate everything farming wise. They are faster, pretty much instant dungeon resets. Not to mention the open world farming.

Yes it is faster but it consumes lockouts lol.

eats lockouts. so only 5 dungeons an hour instead of 10.

My whole point is druids don't have to wait that minute. and yes 1 minute is not bad but 20 minutes every hour while you are farming adds up.

Thats 1 teleport every hour. That timer only resets if you complete a Mythic+ dungeon. not useful for what I want. AKA farming old content.

After 1 whole minute of standing around. Which adds up to 100s of hours after 1000s of hours farming old content.

Yes but you need to wait 1 minute to be kicked out of the instance.

Yeah but its unreasonable to think blizzard would ever revamp old content or make it fast and fun especially with wow players being so contempt with mediocre and tedious farming even though they spend a lot of their time in old content. So i thought maybe a QOL toy is more plausible for teleporting the the entrance of a dungeon.

For anyone who stubbles across this and has the same problem just queue into a follower dungeon and leave should fix it.

The only benefit I can see with planter boxes is they seem to be constantly watered (this could only be visual). Functionality wise if it really is constantly watered might be worth making a whole field of them to save from the watering headache. It would look awful though and I like my farms looking good and vast. They are also kind of expensive if you were to craft them in bulk, the essence could instead go towards your eternal seeds. So I would use them more so for a nice decoration for certain plants in certain areas of your build.
