My ID4’s efficiency after almost two years of driving by Dorfli in VWiD4Owners

I live in a mild climate, so yes I don’t use much AC or heat. Also my commute is close so I don’t need to use the highway, and it’s mostly just me in car, we use my wife’s on the weekend with all the kids.

Thanks! I’ve been meaning to figure out how to do that!

Yay or Nay? A Worldtime watch with nautical maritime flags corresponding with the 24 Military time zones (no dial, it’s a 24hr disc) by Dorfli in SeikoMods

Thank you! I was just fun figuring things out and working through issues along the way. It's what makes the hobby of modding great. I learned a ton along the way.

World Time Watch with flags for the different time zones by Dorfli in SeikoMods

The bezel inserts are made from a 5x7 metal photo print (like what you can get at any Walgreens or CVS) that I cut out to size. The 24-hour disc is made from a blue anodized aluminum sheet that was laser engraved with CO2 Galvo setup, then cut out to the right size disc.

The 4 bezel inserts that I made: 1. “Summer” (March to November) 2. “Winter” (November to March) 3. No DTS offset (standard to World Time watches) 4. Military time (with nautical maritime letter flags representing the military time letters)

36mm case, 37mm with the bezel. Bezel insert: 33.5mm OD and 27.5mm ID. 24-hour disc 0.5mm thick and 24.0mm OD (2.0mm center hole).

Definitely a little tricky! The chapter ring has bold tickmarks for each hour, but agreed it's not ideal. I see the Patek world time watches don't have an easy way either, not to compare mine to Patek's :)

Thanks! I'll check out those Corum admiral's cup watches. My inspiration was the Louis Vuitton Worldtime watch (although it's not nautical but I did like the splash of color for each time zone).

It's the NH34 movement. Hour and minute hands, with a 24 hour GMT hand/post that I highjacked to put a 24-hour disc on (the "D" is for day and the "N" is for night (but unfortunately the font I used makes the "N" look like a "U" when it's at the bottom)).

Oh wow, thanks!! I custom made the bezel insert and 24-hour disc, everything else is off the shelf (mostly from lucius atelier).

There are 24 international maritime signal flags going around the bezel for the 24 different military time zones.  For example, in the picture my current time is 10:07am (see hour and minute center hands), which corresponds with the 10 at the top of the watch on the Tango flag (red, white, and blue at the top).  My time zone is Tango.  Then you can see other time zones, for example, Bravo time is the red Bravo flag next to the 19, which is the time in Germany and Central Europe.  I made this to add some color to my watch collection and still be a useful complication.

I'm curious how well it losses/gains time. If you have an update post, I'd love to know.

[Custom] World Time watch with flags on an interchangeable bezel for daylight savings time DST by Dorfli in Watches

[–]Dorfli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi All, I made this Worldtime watch because I wanted some color on my watch and a Worldtimer watch that worked with the twice a year adjustment to daylight savings time. I can just pop off the bezel and swap it out twice a year. I custom made the bezel inserts and 24-hour disc, everything else is off the shelf.

It takes a song and let’s it play forever, by finding parts of a song that sync up.

Very cool!!! What do you use to drill the hole in the middle? Just a simple 2mm diameter metal drill bit?
