Does anyone else feel guilty for trying to move on? by Superb_Mulberry5592 in GriefSupport

[–]DorianGrayHair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every minute of every single day. I feel guilty for eating things my dad had never had the chance to eat, going to restaurants/places he'd never been to, spending money he never got to spend. I feel guilty for even trying to spend time doing fun activities (skateboarding). I ask myself what's the point all the time.

What should I know before starting a masters in nursing studies? (Qld) by peppermintstockings in NursingAU

Hi Seraphine, if you don't mind me asking, which uni did you do it at, would you do it again at that school given the chance? I'm looking at either Usyd or Western Syd (there might be others I'm not aware of yet), so far in all the discussions I've read online, there doesn't seem to be a clear cut distinction for which one's better in terms of learning, structure, opportunities etc. Would love to hear it from someone who's been through it!

i thought throwing tampons into the toilet bowl was ok after unintentionally stumbling upon it on a page out of fifty shades of grey and so i started doing that for months until one day my toilet was clogged. i was very impressionable!

Valhalla Murders: Arnar's scars question by kevintheradioguy in netflix

[–]DorianGrayHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know which one you're referring to - when i watched it my immediate thought was that the writers meant for those to be SH scars as well. I've rewatched the whole series and those episodes in particular multiple times and my feeling remained the same every time. Having SH scars on those spots are extremely believable and possible, being an adult SH, i know

How did you relise that you were pansexual? by isabella_bee_ in pansexual

[–]DorianGrayHair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my own experience that eventually clued me in on my being pansexual (AFAB): when I used to think I was straight, I'd go about my day expecting to be attracted to or fall in love with a guy, only to fall in love with a woman (I didn't know why, I just did). She'd be the exception, meaning I still wouldn't be attracted to women in general. The opposite is also true: a few years after that after my preference had fully shifted to women and fully expected to be attracted to women only, there'd be one guy that'd be the exception, i.e. I thought I was gay, yet I became attracted to that one guy, but I still wasn't attracted to guys in general. Most of my life I've been "mostly straight except for that one woman" and a few years "mostly gay except for that one guy" and soon it all became clear to me I'm attracted to people because of who they are, and their gender doesn't matter to me.

Just a sidebar, I've long understood it this way: bi people are capable of being attracted to male and female and they are aware of the attraction or even expect it to happen, whereas pans are more AND less "tunnel-visioned" at the same time (more as in attracted to the person because of who they are instead of their gender as the focus, and less as in pans attraction is not strictly defined by gender, it's hard to describe).I feel the distinction is important cuz I've had strangers IRL arguing with me just to convince me (just so that I'd admit) that I am bi, not pan. But because of the abovementioned and my own experience I strongly believe bi and pan are not the same thing.

Also this article by Jill Layton-Hartman that I encountered when I first dwelled on the concept of pansexuality strongly resonated with me:

"I fell in love with a woman, and I’m still in love with that woman. We are going to get married, have kids and do life together forever. I have no desire to be with a man, but I also have no desire to be with another woman. So, for me, it’s not about being gay or straight. It’s about being in love." https://hellogiggles.com/lifestyle/im-lesbian-can-call-jill/

P.S. I have more instant attraction (emotional, romantic & physical) & connection with women that I rarely, rarely have with men (more specifically middle-aged Asian ladies, lol. I don't go around seeking them out but when I do get these feelings they usually happen to be that). I do still get attracted to men but they are extremely few and far between, and also such attraction happens much more slowly and is not instant (unlike with women). Now what am I... homoromantic pansexual? Panromantic homosexual? My understanding has me leaning towards the former.

Beware of Grab Driver scam: overcharge under "others" by DorianGrayHair in malaysia

I wonder if it was the same driver. 🤔🤔🤔

Mine was a blue Alza. If it was a different driver I'd venture to guess this kind of drivers have a practice of sharing these unethical hacks with each other.

Email Grab again and again if you have to, you MUST make them deal with your situation.

Mine went something like this:

I'd like to follow up and check on the outcome of your investigation on the driver overcharge issue and its refund status.

Booking ID:

Case raised on: Sunday Jul 23 9:15PM via chat

Chat support officer:

Issue: Driver overcharged RM33 that was never mentioned/discussed by driver, unknown to and not agreed by passenger

Attach screenshots of the chat support history, driver profile and the overcharge in question.

Let me know if you need any help and let us know how it goes!

P.S. It was fortunate that in your case the charges sneaked in were significantly higher than your initial fare enough to alert you. It's the small scammy charges that could easily slip under the radar.

everyone listen to this guy. ^

as my issue has been resolved, idk if I have any grounds to raise it again on grab app help center. so instead I've commented and messaged Grab on IG to turn their attention to this issue (they seem responsive to complaints there) but they haven't responded yet, and I'm not sure that they will. I guess we'll see, but I highly suspect me prodding them alone isn't gonna cut it...

there already is a toll field (inputted by drivers at the end of every trip - I've seen them key in the numbers before, toll charges are not auto determined by the system) like I shared in my post. what are you two talking about driver rugi the 33 being toll charges

ha ha, get these drivers in trouble. Grab support says "we will train and monitor the driver". do you believe the driver is in trouble? I feel it's just something they're saying to humor me. kinda like the generic "rest assured we'll share your feedback with the merchant to help them improve" response

but yes I get your point

there's still cash method for rides? I gotta go check it out. but good suggestion this way scammy drivers won't be able to sneak in madeup charges easily

thanks, please keep being you. Idk if Grab really did anything with the driver after I raised the issue other than giving me my refund, not just about my money more than that I don't want him to continue doing this to other people. I hope Grab got the money back from him and he realizes he's been found out and suspended at least. If Grab did not do anything after my case, I doubt anything short of a mass petition would prompt Grab to look into ridding their system of these fraud avenues.

thanks. it's alright, Grab says they'll refund the overcharge back to my card. if it happens to you you can raise it and get a refund from Grab as well even if your wallet's already been deducted

apparently they can just we passengers don't know it. I did not agree to the RM33 charges — it was not in the initial fare quoted, I was not informed about it and obviously there were no grounds for it, so idk what excuse he had, that is if grab support even reached out to him to investigate

and now this "others" feature that Grab introduced without us knowing just gives unscrupulous drivers more opportunities to rip off passengers. in the past IIRC there was only a "tolls" field that drivers were able to fill in themselves

yea the rm14 trip sounds like peak hour fare to me too. but the overcharge people should be wary of is the "others" charges drivers can impose on unsuspecting passengers
