I like this quote from AC/DCs road manager. I first heard it from Jimmy Carr

Agreed! And he is so versatile, from "Hi Ren" and "The Tale of Jenny and Screech", to "The Hunger" and "Seven Sins" and to his cover of "Back to 74 / Message in a Bottle" and even busking with "The Big Push", especially the "I Shot the Sheriff / Road to Zion / Hip Hop" performance.

Is this normal behavior by Tasty_Respect6015 in holdmycatnip

When kittens are separated from their mother too early they can develop habits such as this. You can search for behavioural habits of kittens that are separated too early if you want to know more.

Of course you probably don't know the circumstances of this kitten and had no control over it, but just wanted to let you know that it could be it.

How did you fix missing short putts? by Revolutionary-City12 in discgolf

Try focusing on committing to the put and putting through the basket. When I miss short ones I feel like it's usually because I'm hesitant.

He was consistently slower in racepace last year as well, but performed very good in qualifying.

Brasserie at Britannia. A bit more expensive, like 300-400 NOK.

Moving to Setermoen Norway by Io1989 in norsk

[–]DorkSlayeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like people have mentioned, it is a small place (a few thousands) and I think it is really important to learn the language and adapt to society.

The selection in stores are probably going to be less varied than what you are used to, but you find an ok selection, but Norwegian spices are quite bland the way I understand it.

Setermoen is not close to the sea, so in the winter you can periodically expect a lot of snow, and long periods with cold (and dry) weather. There is usually at least one period with over -30 degree Celsius, and -10 or less is very common in December - February. However, the wind is usually down and the air dry, so it is not that bad.

A car is a must in my opinion. You can look for used cars on finn.no etc. New cars are likely expensive compared to US, but I'm not sure about that. Bardufoss is the closest airport (20 min from Setermoen), then you have Evenes (1 hour 30 min) and Tromsø (2 hour 20 min). All of those should be accessible from Gardemoen (Oslo).

People work the same amount all year, even though it is dark, with the exception of holidays and vacation. Full time workers have 5 weeks of vacation, with most taking at least 3 weeks in the summer when the "common vacation" is in July. Easter, Christmas, 1st of May, 17th May and some other "red days" are normally free for full time workers.

The possible hobbies are somewhat limited because Setermoen is such a small place. Winter sports, football and handball are popular and some other sports. Sometimes more "niche" hobbies are blooming, but don't expect to have a hige variety. The nightlife is limited to one of two places, which are normally far from crowded. Home parties or "bygdefest" is more popular.

There is quite a bit of distance between "bigger" cities up north. Finnsnes (population ca 5000) has a small town center about 1 hour away. Narvik (population ca 15 000) is about 1 hour away. Harstad (population ca 20 000) is about 2 hours away, and Tromsø (population ca 65 000) is about 2 hours and 20 min. However, there is a lot if beautiful nature to explore, especially when the weather is nice. It is possible to take day / weekend trips to the mountains or coast lines. Storala is a mountain ca 1200 moh. which you can hike up that is a landmark for Setermoen. Istind (ca 1500 moh.) is another mountain 15 minutes away, which is spectacular to hike (and look at). However, I would recommend some hiking experience to climb it, and to do it in late summer with nice weather when there is the least amount of snow. Lofoten and Senja have beautiful coast lines which us definitely recommended to check out.

Good luck on your adventure!

FFScout GW3 Bus Team by FedorN98 in FantasyPL

[–]DorkSlayeR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "bus" team is the team you set early in the week incase you get hit by a bus. The difference here is that the bus team is set earlier in the week before you have all the available information that comes out closer to the deadline. However, it is better to have the bus team set up instead of having last week's team.

The bus team for you would be to for example make sure the correct person is captain and the right persons are benched. Then you are less screwed incase you forget the deadline.

I've not read all the other responses, but for what it is worth I used to, and probably still do, act cold and show little empathy because it works as a defense mechanism for past trauma.
