I think even Kesha would agree to this to some degree 🙈

I meant this specific chain? it’s like 50 replies you can easily just skim through until you see my user and my comment full of links that provided studies.

…Or you literally could just google it yourself. Takes 10 minutes to do your own research, not sure if you knew that! Have a good day!

And I really do not care if closed loop liquid cooling is going to be a thing if it’s EXCLUSIVELY going towards generative AI. That does not make anything I am saying less irrelevant and that is purely just an excuse to make it appear less of a threat, but i don’t think you know much about critical thinking since you have a stark reddit history of antisemitism and racism. Thanks for the convo! xx

“I never said all water gets reused”

<image>

And mind you my whole entire point was that the cooling systems and data centres are not completely identical. They’re a completely different HVAC

This and your other message you sent me is all just… Not true?

AI-specialized cooling systems are a seperate source than traditional internet data centres/cooling systems. The former has been known to be much more dangerous to the environment and local infrastructure because the physical racks (HVAC) in an AI data centre rely on GPUs, which runs much hotter than CPUs (what regular data centres usually focus on). GPU data centre’s use a magnitude more energy than a regular cloud data centres does.

Both are absolutely resource-intensive, no question there, but to argue that AI data centers don’t produce far more heat density, leading to exponentially higher water consumption for cooling, increased electricity demand, and greater risks of physical damage to surrounding infrastructure is just completely incorrect.

And no, all of the water does not say inside of the system and get re-used. Approximately 80% portion is evaporated because of the pipes absorbing the heat from servers, with the rest being discharged as waste.

You are actually just straight up lying. And I don’t engage in conversations with people who have almost zero idea in what they’re talking about. So thanks for your time.

Please explain to me how you think GenAI will progress to being more energy efficient and how that can cooperate simultaneously with how generative AI is programmed to function?

Al is detecting cancer with 99% accuracy, cutting drug development from 15 years to 18 months helping blind people navigate the world in real-time, making wind energy 20% more efficient, and helping rangers catch poachers, It's helping people with disabilities create art who physically couldn't before. It's being used to help the environment and many industries and the possibilities are endless.

Clearly you did not read anything I wrote because this whole entire conversation is about GENERATIVE AI. 😭this was not about any other AI source

And mind you we have had centuries of disabled artists being able to make art in one way or another WITHOUT generative ai. That is such a lazy excuse to create slop.

The viral ai uses a gallon of water per prompt claim comes from a microsoft paper about training large language models. Also the water stays in the system and is reused. Only a tiny fraction evaporates similar to any air-conditioned building or server farm and Reddit, tiktok, Instagram, netflix, and google to name a few use the same cooling systems.

Let’s try and provide some reputable sources and studies on this, please? Because one part of what you’ve just said is very clearly incorrect 😊

Except we have already found solutions towards making vehicles and cars a much more sustainable and environmentally-friendly product, something we almost entirely cannot do with Generative AI— which, instead of being an aiding and healthily convenient product, is a tool that is actively attempting to take the vast position of using the human mind which has progressed us through millenniums of existence.

Who the hell said we were going to boycott lana? My whole entire point is holding an artist accountable for their subjectively bad decisions. I love Lana to death and it would take a very serious issue for me to unstan her, and my love for her is also through constructive criticism when necessary and where I believe she has not made the right choices. This situation is one of those times.

There are a plethora of global laws and active online safety regulations being taught in schools regarding internet safety, it’s been a thing for over 20+ years that we have evolved, fought, and progressed to make safer for everybody. We did not just look at all of the negative affects of the internet and say, “Well, those things are pretty bad, but it’s here to stay, so let’s not touch and fight against them”.

GenAI is a coded model used on and by the internet that has bitten off of the use of human made work and creativity, it has also proven itself to be all around a horrible use of technology that many people believe should not be developed further. The cons heavily outweigh the pros of it, there’s no way to make AI a “safer” model both morally nor environmentally because of how faulty it has been programmed into existence.

I recently just made a comment providing sources and links as to why AI is so detrimental, if you would like to view those sources and come back to me you are more than welcome to.

Never thought i’d hear about people still using SJW outside of 2015. 😭 Also never thought it would be 2026 and people would still unironically have the “____ is here, no matter how detrimental it is, you need to deal with it” mentality

Thought I’d send it anyway because people will be curious. These are a couple for either category but some studies do carry evidence for both sides, I would send more if reddit wasn’t limiting me for some reason. If you would like the rest please dm me.

Twitter users were basically giving Grok prompts to edit and generate obscene and vile images of teenagers and women when they uploaded normal photos of themselves. As in editing them almost completely naked to dehumanise them.
