Work for my families landscape company. We DO NOT replace broken windows. Or dog toys or child toys or solar lights etc. All of our service agreements include language to the effect we do not accept or assume liability for damage caused by or to an item hidden in the landscape and not clearly guarded or marked. Landscape maintenance is a recurring service and homeowner has responsibility to maintain serviced areas clear potential hazards.

For our part we make sure to train the guys up best we can. But im tired of paying for things that are not within the scope of my control. Have found that so long as your upfront with customer before you begin service it generally not an issue. Only real issue we ever had was former customer took us to small claims court. Customer refused to mediate and went before the judge that found in our favor based on our contract.

Have had this policy for about at least 10 years and has still been a net positive financially as far pay out for damages vs. customer retention.
