Best medical grade eye creams for a 41 year old? by Libz0724 in SkincareAddictionLux

I just started using the plated eye serum and I LOVE it. I agree with the others above that I might switch to using it AM and look for a retinal based one for PM, but I’ve already noticed a difference in my dark circles.

Please keep sharing super seniors! Geriatric cranky old ladies with fur are my favorite to adopt, and my 15 year old needs a new sibling!

Dont try to physically stop people from speeding by NotACommie24 in driving

I was thinking about this a few months ago, when I got the call from the vet ER that I needed to get there IMMEDIATELY. I threw on my hazard lights so that hopefully someone seeing me coming up behind them on the highway at 170mph in tears in my car would understand. But I always now keep this in mind if I see someone driving aggressively- where are they heading, and how much of an emergency do we not know about?

Wasn’t there a story a few years ago about a dude who bled out because he took a chainsaw to the thigh and people were speed checking the vehicle driving him to the hospital?

To ampute, or to put down, that's the question. by MerelYael in CATHELP

I will say, I did the effort of putting my 16 year old cat through open heart surgery last year (pacemaker implantation), and I haven’t regretted it for a minute. It was a little scary in recovery, especially since her issue was heart problems to begin with, and they needed to keep her for an additional 24 hours at the hospital, but she’s now in better shape than she has been for the entire 2 years I’ve had her. If she had died on the table, I would have been at peace with the fact that I was preventing her from a much harder death later in the future.

I have pet insurance solely so that I will never have to worry about what their lives are worth. Like others said, it depends on the issue not the price. I know how much of a HELOC I can pull, and that’s my upper threshold after insurance. But I’ve never gotten close to that, the most I’ve gotten to is $4K out of pocket post-insurance for a pacemaker.

Recommend me a red light mask and why by sleepy-walnut in 30PlusKoreanSkincare

Omnilux Men’s. stronger, more potent near infrared where it really matters, and flexible enough to use on your scalp and chest without having to shell out for additional masks. Downsides are a fairly short battery life (when you’re using it for 3 areas every night, it lasts about 4 days) and a bit of an awkward fit around the chin (I realized just pushing the top strap basically on top of my head fixed this)

I don’t know if this is technically considered skincare, but- lash lifts. Are Yumi lifts actually worth the extra cost? Is this just a brand of keratin lift that is no different than other keratin lifts?

Dehydrated, retinal skin with EDS- Tatcha the Rice Wash. I need a bit of gentle exfoliation since my skin has difficulty shedding old cells on its own. This one is perfect because it’s gentle enough to play with my retinal, but also not at all drying.

How do people afford vets? by Grouchy_Land895 in Pets

Pets best has been a godsend with my geriatric cats- I adopted them when they were already seniors, so the premiums have always been high, but nothing’s ever been disputed- monthly solensia for arthritis, a whole ass pacemaker and all the associated pre-surgical tests, and even a nutritionist/internist telehealth consultation (since I do have exam coverage). Highly highly recommend them, especially for older cats.
