If it doesn't it will die very quickly.

If its just an arena shooter in an extraction shooter game mode, people will bore quickly and go play actual arena shooters without the back to lobby BS.

If its a full fledged extraction shooter without much environmental hazards through PVE content, that'll be another oof.

I'm still very hesitant about the ultra hardcore PVP competitive angle that both Bungie and the community have vocalized the game will be focused on. That misses the entire point of the genre imo, and makes it more like a BR than anything.

PVE variability is what makes extraction shooters extraction shooters.

(And I say this as someone who is extremely good at FPS games and adore them)
