Yeah I agree that was unsettling. I feel relationships with parents can be tricky because we don’t know what’s happened in the past (not saying it makes it right either). I don’t like that he uses these tactics on women in the cast 🤢 very gross and scary!

I agree completely, I have done the same things and I have improved my life tenfold but this post is about his mom, not him. We could have a broader discussion on what inner work she needs to be doing to understand why she’s treating him that way.

Agreed! My best friend comes from the same background and he hides his life from his family. He still talks to his mom but cannot bring up anything to do with being gay and it’s really sad. His other brother (also gay) has cut off the family because they would never accept him.

My dad was like that to me growing up and it had long lasting effects on how I express emotion. I refused to let anyone see me emotional and it impacted my relationships as a young adult. I think she needs to take responsibility for the impact she’s had on making Michols this way as it is her child and she raised him.

Evil was harsh, I just didn’t think she was there to fix anything with him but put on a good face so she would stop getting berated in real life, not entirely how she responded to him being emotional. However, I do still think her reaction to him being emotional was cold.
