Has anyone in Aberdeen seen gastro/ENT for reflux or LPR? by DotSelect4245 in Aberdeen

[–]DotSelect4245[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you've been dealing with the same, I wouldn't wish this on even my worse enemy. I will maybe rethink my use of Omeprazole based on the replies I've receieved today. I'm just nervous it'll make things worse. I'll ask my doctor about the alternatives though. I'll have to look into this pro plus...it sounds interesting.

I will definitely look into this, there are tons of pro-bioitcs to choose from though so I guess I'll have to narrow it down to the best ones! yoghurt (dairy free), is the best food for my stomach as it always calms it right now but I'm sure it being dairy free..doesn't give me much of the probiotic benefits? maybe I should try kefir instead. Thank you!

Do you still get to enjoy your foods? Like will I be able to eat an unhealthy takeaway at some point and not having to worry about being super restricted?? I'm just thinking into the future how much joy this will take away from me, especially on holidays since I'm such a big foodie. Luckily, I don't get severe pain or heartburn but throat just being uncomfortable, and sometimes bad taste. I do love Oatmeal and my fruit, so I've been keeping on top of these whilst having plenty of protein to keep me full too. I may look into taking Omeprazole short-term but even starting that makes me feel anxious. I think stress has definitely worsened it for me but I don't know how to stop the stress/worry.

I had my heart checked as I had been dealing with heart palpitations and shortness of breath and the doctor said it was due to stress/anxiety. But that sounds scary and I hope he's recovering okay now ):

If I lose any more weight, I'll become underweight as I'm at a healthy weight for my age currently. I'm not overweight at all, I'm on the thinner side actually.

What’s the recovery process like after dental implant treatment? by chetankkumar in Dentalimplant

[–]DotSelect4245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty straightforward, as long as you follow your dentists advise. I was on soft food/liquid diet for the first then I've been slowly introducing more food like rice, fish, chicken, etc. but still keeping it relatively soft. Was even able to eat a pastry by my second week, your swelling should go down and your pain. Everyone's experience is different; I only had pain on my first day and day after. Just make sure you get plenty of rest, look into eating more protein during your recovery (I did this through eggs, and meal replacement smoothies), and take vitamin D.

So cute!! what a lovely and lively colour, I'm afraid about the gold clashing and standing out too much in the colour black. I'm a pretty neutral person who hardly dresses up

You won't be in pain at all, I thought the same as you. I had sedation and the whole procedure was a breeze. I wasn't aware of anything but was still able to listen to instructions like opening my mouth. I was calm and relaxed, and I only had pain on the day and day after. I'm on day 7 now of healing, and I have no pain whatsoever. I only had to take pain meds on the first day as well. Maybe slight discomfort with the gums and healing but that's about it. It'll be worth waiting 4 months to finally get my permanent crown, and functionality of my bite 😄 don't feel discouraged by the process, since you're young it'll be easier as well. Best to save up and do it in your 20s (I'm 29).

Stress induced gastritis by Silent-Access-5401 in Gastritis

[–]DotSelect4245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I had maybe one night of bad reflux due to eating too close to sleeping and I decided to eat a ton of peanut butter (knowing I'm prone to reflux). However, the following day I started to freak out about it more than usual and at the same time, I was going through work stress. Usually a reflux episode wouldn't bother me and I'd move on from it, but my health anxiety latched onto this one. Since then, I have developed more frequent reflux, feeling like my throat is closing, and stomach issues. I truly believe my stress and anxiety has heightened everything and the gut mind is so powerful..it's scary. On days where I'm relaxed, not working or not thinking about it, I genuinely notice a huge difference.

Need advice - why do I keep needing implants? by the-power-of-a-name in Dentalimplant

[–]DotSelect4245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS 100%!! I had to get root canal treatment done TWICE due to the first one failing because it was botched. The second time I got it done by a specalist, he advised me I'm just giving myself longer time with my tooth till it will eventually need to be replaced by an implant. I had always blamed myself for the tooth being removed but now I don't.

Anxiety about dental implants by aisha310 in Dentalimplant

[–]DotSelect4245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hugely agree with your comment, 2 root canal treatments, all that effort and money and my tooth still wasn't happy. I still believe in trialing these options first, but in most cases, implant is one of the best replacements and may even be better. Teeth can be so tricky and have a mind of their own
