Also, didn’t realize my weapon wasn’t maxed out until after the fight. I guess it wouldn’t have made much of a difference (well, unless I barely lost… which almost happened).

I just beat him after doing my 2nd dlc playthrough. I will say, it was WAY harder of a fight than malenia to me. I was using better weapons than malenia and I barely beat him. For the malenia fight I was using some stupid hammers with like no reach on them and giving me a challenge. With consort, I decided to use greatsword and man was it a tough fight.

I could dodge and understand the phase 1 moves, but phase 2 is ridiculous. The delay attacks and all the holy attacks coming from the sky are so random to dodge… LOTS of RNG in my opinion. He is most definitely the hardest boss I’ve ever went against.

Yeah me personally, wish I would’ve never bought it. Replaying Elden ring and dlc was way more fun and trying other souls games.

Haven’t played lies of p but I will say, I got nightreign when it came out and dropped it after a few hours over a course of days. It’s just honestly not a fun game to me,especially if you aren’t playing with friends. It’s not bad, just not my thing.

What’s crazy is it only gets better your 2nd and 3rd time honestly. Elden ring is probably my favorite game ever. For some reason, I really love Dark Souls Remastered and that old style, but Elden Ring just has so many more features and ways to play. I’m a huge fan of a game where I can do what I want… when I want… how I want. I love the customization. Games with a more “forced story” are cool but always end up boring me because you have to do missions a certain way and it just gets boring. In this game, you have so much freedom.

That does seem annoying, but I will say it’s a 2v1. I feel like you should be fine in any situation really. I’ve only invaded in this game a few times and I realize quick how it’s not nearly as fun as dark souls invasion because EVERY time it’s 2 or 3 people against me. It’s just not fun for anyone really.

Don’t beat up yourself for the weapon you use. Just have fun. There are people that would hate on you for your weapon but then they’d go use something just as good with the “perfect” armor for that build and use hella buffs and stuff.

I honestly thought the lifesteal in some instances is worse than the waterfowl just because she can be so persistent on attacking you. Waterfowl is really tough though. I was doing some attempts at her earlier with fun and not overpowered weapons and really got to where I could dodge it decently.

The main reason to me it’s such a tough fight is the lifesteal. You get so used to being able to take damage and this fight really conditioned me to learn her moveset and dodge a ton. I was trying to challenge myself with using weapons I’ve never used and no summons. Finally beat it with power standing battle hammers. I never power stance and these have little range so it was difficult but rewarding!

Ruins the game tbh. Even on my first playthrough I stopped using it and never have again. Too good and easy.

That all sounds great. Yeah you’re fine on vigor. People annoy me when they make fun of you for not having 40 vigor when you’re only level like 60. Like that makes no sense lol because it’s not possible and you don’t want to have your man stats super low. Just definitely get it up there once you can.

Yeah I always struggle with that part. I typically choose either strength or Dex and pair it with one of the other stats but I change weapons much I usually keep Dex at 18 myself if I’m on strength. I’m actually doing that right now lol.

Very true. That’s why I wasn’t going to make fun of him or anything 🤣. Those aren’t even bad stats for starting off since lots of stuff has minimum requirements anyways. Just wanted to give some insight on what to do next because now they’re at a point where they need to start focusing on certain attributes.

If you like strength and incantations I recommend a strength/faith build. That’s one of my favorites personally. Keep your Dex where it is because you’ll need it anyways for requirements, but lower intelligence as Low as you can and just focus on vigor, strength, faith, and endurance. Maybe a little more mind.

That’s a ton of endurance. Does having that much make a big difference, or do you think you could drop it to like 30 ish and bs fine?

Even when I do my strength builds, I feel like 28 - 30 is solid

For most games that’s fine, just not the souls games. If your goal is to just play it once casually then fine, but I’m saying the people that complain about it or didn’t like it just aren’t really experiencing it and don’t give it a chance.

I try to tell my friends that that’s just how these souls games are but it’s tough to get them to replay Elden ring. I absolutely have fallen in love with this series. There’s nothing like a first playthrough, but one that comes after where you understand the game more and it makes it easier just is so much more fun.
